Anomaly Detector is a curiosity and one of the anomalous homing devices.
Game Description[ | ]
A single-use geometric beacon that probes the surrounding area for near-space anomalies. Such objects are highly unpredictable.
Select the Detector and use Begin Scan (E) to begin the location process.

- Occasionally received on shooting Asteroids. They are most commonly dropped from "rare" asteroids. These are most common in red star systems (12%). Anomaly Detectors have a 0.5% chance of dropping from these rare asteroids.
- Can be received for free from a Explorers Guild Envoy for standing rank "Master" and above.
- Can be found from Abandoned Wreckages that occasionally spawn on planets with Salvageable Scrap.

It can be used to force detection of Space Encounters, including a Rogue Black Hole. As of the The Endurance Update (July 20, 2022), they can be used to find Living Frigates. Ignoring the detection notification and keep pulsing further for a few seconds will reroll another encounter to be detected until exiting pulse drive.
