Archivist is a Journey Milestone.

Archivist is the seventh level of the Planetary Zoology Journey Milestone for discovering all lifeforms on planets.

The following trophy is awarded for reaching this milestone:

How to achieve

Fauna can spawn in four different main biomes: land, caves, sky and water. Additionally, certain animals only spawn during day-time or night-time. If you are lacking a specific species to discover in a planet, try looking at the sky, near caves or in bodies of water, if the planet has water. Rare land creatures are usually hard to find, and the best way to find them is by just walking along the planet's surface. Flying to a new area of the planet can also trigger different spawns.

Possible issues[]

It can sometimes be difficult to find all the creatures on planets with shallow water or irregular terrain. If it takes too long to find a species after having looked in all biomes, moving on to another planet might be a better option. This is especially true since creatures on the ground will keep spawning even when the player is exploring underground caves. As of June 2020, considering the game limits the amount of spawned creatures, the current spawning system might impede zoology field work or even *prevent* player from finding all creatures on a given astral body.

Planets with a low number of species are often easier to 100% than planets with a large number of different species.

The silver paw icon in the top right of the Discoveries page must be manually activated in order for the milestone to recognize a completed set of species.
