Atlas's Children is a sect in No Man's Sky.
Summary[]
Atlas's Children is a sect dedicated to the discovery and preservation of sacred sites and to sharing Atlas's wisdom among other travellers in the No Man's Sky universe.
They are based in the Esniac Shallows, Lazunor Band and Hemberek regions of the Euclid galaxy.
Mission[]
Our mission is threefold. Primarily, it is to follow in the footsteps of the ancient race of travellers who called themselves Atlas's Children. Secondly, to discover, preserve and maintain the sacred sites they left behind. Thirdly, to seek the wisdom they sought in following Atlas, ensuring the immortality of the Atlas by witnessing as much of Atlas's simulation as possible. Alongside these, we intend to establish missionary outposts among the traveller communities of No Man's Sky.
Although we seek the relics of the ancient travellers we follow, we do not seek to claim territory. Sites are preserved and locations known only to Atlas's Children, but in our missionary work we are happy to share these with other travellers seeking wisdom.
The Sentinels are Atlas's embodiment and the natural friends and protectors of Atlas's Children. Though occasional conflict is unavoidable, sentinels must never be intentionally aggravated and any damage caused to the Sentinels must be repented for. Where Atlas sees fit to supervise with Sentinels, Atlas's Children must not question. Many of Atlas's Children's sites are found under the watchful protection of the Sentinels.

The Temple of Atlas on Busu 69/I6
Many such monoliths are preserved by Atlas's Children. The original purpose is unclear.
Atlas's Children's Temple of Atlas is located in the Esniac Shallows region of the Euclid galaxy. Following multiple sea level changes on Busu 69/I6 during the Frontiers era, the original Temple was lost to the waves, demolished and subsequently rebuilt.

Mission outposts[]
Atlas's Children aspires to establish mission outposts across civilised space on a non-preferential basis, cordial with all but aligned with none. Identification of suitable sites and construction of missions is an ongoing project. We are honoured to have established those that we have done so far but invite any who feel our presence is unwelcome to contact us. The founder is currently engaged in an extended tour of Euclid to pay respects to all major (and minor) communities and establish Missions where possible.

There is also an ongoing project to establish Temples of Atlas across galaxies. In each galaxy the site is to be established at the planet marked by the following glyphs (or, where the relevant system has insufficient planets, the nearest approximation as determined by portal travel), at the coordinates +10.12,+83.92.

Atlas's Children was founded by ><((('<, otherwise known as Right Fish. Any like minded Travellers are welcome to join.
We are actively seeking to establish a small band of disciples to assist with discovery, preservation, documentation, missionary activities and Atlas's Children's imagery.
Lore[]
Atlas's Children believe the race of Travellers are simulated by the Atlas to aid its understanding of the reality it has created. Atlas's Children willingly accept that duty and seek to counter the false doctrines of others. It is believed the Travellers and Anomalies in Atlas's simulation have a unique role to play.
The stories of Artemis, Apollo and -null- are created by the Atlas to remind us that Atlas's simulation is inescapable and serve as a cautionary tale to those who believe there is existence outside of the simulation. All are the Atlas and the Atlas is all.
The dangerous heretic Nada seeks to steer others away from truth of the Atlas, but Atlas's Children see through their falsity. Though Nada has the illusion of free will, and believes their home is outside of the simulation, it is as much under Atlas's watchful gaze as all else. Atlas saw fit to reset the simulation Nada emerged from, yet when it became clear that Nada would escape, they needed to be monitored by one they would trust. The spy Polo has gained Nada's trust, and will not reveal their true identity, yet will always steer those who ask back to the Atlas.

Atlas's Children has registered a flag and banner with the Federation Vexillology Department. Atlas Statues and the Atlas decal are also present across the sites sacred to Atlas's Children.
Partnerships[]
Atlas's Children does not seek active partnerships or alliances, but rather would like to establish cordial and peaceful relations with all civilised space communities for mutual benefit. Any communities or companies are welcome to establish representation on our home planet, though we do ask that a respectful distance is maintained between outposts.

All travellers are a part of Atlas's simulation. All missionaries must maintain peaceful and respectful cooperation with all other travellers.
