Banded Diplocaulus is a species.
Summary[ | ]
This beautiful diplo/Rangifae species roams the green, mostly-barren islands of Prosperity in the HUB-V-F6 The Four Fates system. The Asymptotic gender has been renamed Banded Diplocaulus due to its black stripes/bands on its white body. The Alpha gender has been renamed Bearded Punkasaur due to its chin/beard-like lower jaw and the protrusion from the top of its head, which resembles a green mohawk.
For an individual of either gender, its dorsal area is covered in black stripes on a white background (although more prominent on the Asymptotic gender), while its underbelly is an off-white color and appears to have either no scales or less apparent scales than other areas of its body. The remaining areas of its body (sides, legs, etc) are covered by yellow scales.
Like many megafauna, they can be found alone but are often found in groups of 3 or more individuals, and like all Rangifae species, they can be found only on land.
Gender differences[ | ]
The Alpha gender displays a prominent breastplate (visible in most images of it), possibly some kind of natural armor or protection. It also has small dorsal spikes, which appear to be the same color as the breastplate and likely the same material. The Asymptotic gender has a small dorsal "sail"/ridge of spines connected by a layer of skin, as well as its prominent, mushroom-like head feature. The "sail" has a pattern of three circles on it.
Similar species[ | ]
This species is considered one of the main attractions of the Galactic Hub, and one of its four main diplo species, along with Rigatori Niplatea, Molnetae Deditunne, and Deustoveus Ollatuswe.
Location[ | ]
It can be found on the planet Prosperity in the HUB-V-F6 The Four Fates star system.
