Caesarus is a Tryanocae species.
Summary[ | ]
At a massive 8.43m, the Prime gender of this Tyranocae species was the largest fauna discovered (on record) in No Man's Sky, according to the NMS_Zoology Hall of Fame.
It is considered one of the main attractions of the Galactic Hub Project. Sadly, as of the Atlas Rises Update, it has become extinct.
Appearance[ | ]
The Prime gender had an insectoid head, with two antennae-like sensory organs and eyes somewhat similar to a snail. The rest of its body was more typically T-Rex-like, with two stubby arms, long legs, clawed feet, and a slightly feathered tail. The Male gender was very similar to an Earth T-Rex, with a slightly shorter face/snout and a large V-shaped protrusion from its nose, perhaps also a sensory organ. The Male gender's tail also lacked feathers.

Apparently social creatures, they were protective of their young and were rarely found alone. They vocalized, usually with deep bellowing noises.

Jurassic Hub Project De-Extinction[ | ]
As part of the Jurassic Hub Project, the Caesarus was restored in two forms: "original" Caesarus and "restored" Caesarus. This was accomplished by modifying a Companion Egg with the seed code for the Caesarus, resulting in a Caesarus Companion Egg. This egg was then hatched, providing the "original" Caesarus.
Despite being the original seed, its coloration had changed. To remedy this, the Egg Sequencer - Dye Injector was used to change the Caesarus's pigmentation to closely resemble the original, with some small differences such as a darker belly and more green-blue coloration on the top of the head.
Both the original and restored Caesarus are significantly reduced in height. Even with seed editing, the Tyranocae genus is no longer able to exceeed 5.0m. Thus, although this is the true Caesarus, its stature is considerably diminished.
