The Deep Thought Collective, also widely known as the Portal Researchers, is a Civilization with a focus on the lore and hidden elements of NMS and taking a rigorous approach to decoding or disproving them. Initially, the civilization's focus was on opening Portals, which were ultimately unlocked by Update 1.30.
The Deep Thought Collective's main website is the r/NMSPortals subreddit.

The Deep Thought Collective was canonized by Hello Games with the Atlas Rises (1.30) update, by adding the civilization as a client to the procedural Mission Board found in Space stations. The DTC client seems to primarily be associated with "Analyze Minerals" missions.
