The Delta-9 Discovery Initiative is a discovery initiative.
Summary[]
The Delta-9 Discovery Initiative is a discovery initiative on behalf of the No Man's High Hub. The main goal of Delta-9 is to strengthen the wealth of knowledge we have in our wiki, while also opening up contributions to those who may not be savvy enough to edit the wiki. The data contributed will be to aid explorers both in No Man's High Hub and the greater No Man's Sky community. This means documenting things like Upgrade Modules, good economies, cool Fauna/Flora, cool Starships, beneficial bases, Multi-tools . Basically anything you would have wanted when you started playing the game. Once a user reaches 1000pts in the Discord leaderboard they will receive the 'Delta-9 Elite' role.
Forms[]
In order for this initiative to be open to everyone, we will make use of NMS Wiki Boilerplate Creator. Each form is slightly different depending on the type of discovery. Also it is probably in your best interest to review a form to know what kind of data to look for in your exploration.
Any region, system, planet, base etc. uploaded will be seen by Hotbrown at the very least. He will be there to check for formatting, errors etc. So in the wise words of Miss Frizzle 'Take chances, make mistakes and get messy!'. Also, feel free to reference this helpful Wiki Cheatsheet & Guide.
Rewards[]
As an incentive to keep people contributing, there will be a friendly competition within the No Man's High Discord. Each discovery that is used in the wiki will be rewarded with points. A leaderboard in the Discord will display the top 10 contributors. Contributors will also earn Discord roles based on how many points they've earned. The top 5 contributors on the leaderboard will earn their gamertag inscribed on a Gold Astronaut Statue at the Delta-9 Hall of Fame.
Roles[]
- 10000 points: 'Delta-9 Chief of Research'
- 1000 points: 'Delta-9 Elite'
- 200 points: 'Delta-9 Initiate'
Ecology Department[]
There are a few ways to earn points with fauna discoveries:
- 10 points - screenshot of any creature posted to the #aliens_and_creatures channel along with a screenshot of it's discovery menu and glyphs. Tagging @chronicler in the Discord will ensure that it is included in the wiki and that points are awarded correctly
- 50 points - any creature that qualifies for the No Man's Sky Fauna Hall of Fame
Ship Hunters[]
There are a few ways to earn points with starship discoveries:
- 10 points - post a screenshot of the ship with glyphs in the #multi-tools_and_ships channel along with the ship's name, the star system's economy and tagging @chronicler.
- 10 points - additional (20 points total) for any Exotic ship type.
Bounties[]
There will also be 'discovery bounties' that will award point rewards or a multiplier on your class reward. For example, a bounty could be 'The highest class discovery received for X Planet in the Y system [coordinates provided] in the next 48 hours will receive 3x the point reward' or 'The first person to get the biome type of Planet Z will receive 20 pts'. Discovery Bounties will be posted both on Discord and on this page below.
Below are the active bounties. If we are no longer accepting submissions on a bounty it will moved to the Claimed Bounties table.
