Summary

Many video games contain Easter Eggs. The following are some that have been discovered in No Man's Sky.

R2D2 Easter Egg

On some starships this particular wing part can appear. The cylindrical object with the three green circles appears to be a reference to R2D2 from the Star Wars trilogy, because of how it is sitting in a starship with the head looking out.

Hitchhikers Guide to the Galaxy Easter Eggs

The lowest Bounty level is "mostly harmless", a reference to Earth's entry in the Hitchhiker's Guide to the Galaxy.

The highest rank in words learned is Babelfish a reference to the babelfish translating everything the owner hears.

Portals

As is quite obvious, the portals which are found across every planet in the No Man's Sky universe are references to the Stargates from the Stargate franchise, including the dialling system, only of course, there are only 16 glyphs whereas Stargates have 39.
