Description Base building related mission, gives access to exocraft tech

Exocraft Technician is a secondary mission.

Summary[ | ]

Exocraft Technician is one of the game's side-missions as of the Pathfinder update. The mission introduces the player to the Technician NPC.

Walkthrough[ | ]

Introduction[ | ]

With this mission set as the active mission, warp to the Vy'keen dominated system marked as the destination and go to the local space station and find the Vy'keen NPC to hire. After hiring them, players will then be told to return to their base.

Roamer Geobay & The Resource Depot[ | ]

Speak to them and the player will be given the blueprint for the Roamer Geobay. Place it and then return to the technician. The player will then be given the blueprint for the Exocraft Signal Booster, so install it and return to the technician. The player will then be given the blueprint for the Exocraft Mounted Cannon. Install it and return to the technician. The player will then be required to hunt down a Resource Depot. Go destroy the depot and return to the technician. If the player already has the required resource (100 gold) in inventory, the trip to the depot will not be required.

The Encrypted Terminal[ | ]

The player will then unlock the Exocraft Acceleration Module and be asked to reach an encrypted terminal before the Vy'keen delete the data and the player will have a timer. If they fail to reach it within the allowed time, the player can speak to the technician to try again. It may be recommended to bring some extra Oxygen, Carbon, Condensed Carbon or Phosphorus for Exocraft fuel. Read the terminal dialogue once you arrive at the transmission tower and the player will then unlock the blueprint for the Exocraft Mining Laser.

Upon returning, the player must either lie to the technician about if their family is alive or truthfully tell them their family was killed by the Vy'keen. The choice makes no difference except in dialogue, but you can save and reload before-hand if you wish to see both outcomes.

Upgrading the Roamer[ | ]

The player will then next be tasked with crafting an Exocraft Mining Laser and in return, the player will be rewarded with the blueprint for the Nomad Geobay

The player will be asked for Magnetised Ferrite can always just refine Pure Ferrite into Magnetised Ferrite and give the latter to the technician.

When the player gives the ferrite, they are awarded the Advanced Signal Booster, After building this the player will be given an Exocraft Cannon Module by the Exocraft Technician.

Nomad Geobay[ | ]

The player may now wish to build the Nomad Geobay & upgrade that with the current technology, as it is faster than the Roamer.

The player will then be required to go to an abandoned building to collect Nanite Clusters. This can be skipped if you already have the nanites. Give 100 Nanite Clusters to the Exocraft Technician for an exocraft boost upgrade module.

The Monolith[ | ]

The player will then be tasked with traveling to a Monolith to uncover the truth about Nal. Install the upgrade and bring plenty of fuel before embarking for the Monolith, which the player will only have a limited time to reach. Return to the Exocraft Technician once you have reached and interacted with the Monolith.

Colossus Geobay[ | ]

The player will unlock the Colossus Geobay blueprint. The player will then be required to build one and in return, will be given the blueprint for the Exocraft Mining Laser Upgrade Sigma. The player will then be required to yet again give another 100 Nanite Clusters to the Exocraft Technician (skipping abandoned building visit if they already have them) in return for another new blueprint, which is the Exocraft Signal Booster Upgrade Tau.

Finishing Up[ | ]

The game now incorrectly asks the player to build the Nomad Geobay, which the player already has. It actually wants the player to build the Signal Booster Tau which they just received. The player must return to the technician one last time for an acceleration upgrade module.

Epilogue[ | ]

After completing the mission proper, there is a repeatable mission where the player can use their Exocraft to reach a terminal that the technician is hacking into and receive a large amount of Units as a reward. Usage of a starship is not allowed unless the terminal is located off-planet (possible if the planet on which the Exocraft Technician is currently located has no terminals to hack by virtue of its biome).

Unlike repeatable activities offered by other Hirable NPCs, the Exocraft Technician's mission can be completed multiple times within a 24-hour period in real time.
