Expedition 13: Adrift describes the 13th expedition, known as Adrift, in No Man's Sky. It began on 29 May 2024 and ended on 15 July 2024, with a redux repeat lasting from 11 December 2024 to the 25 December 2024.
Players that complete this expedition receive the Iron Vulture starship and the Iron Panels customisation.
In this expedition, the players will find themselves in a universe completely devoid of any sentient life or signs of settlement. All systems and points of interest within them are abandoned, Space Stations are derelict and empty, and the Space Anomaly will also be eerily silent and desolate (with only Nada's shell/carapace still present). Finally, player-to-player communication is impossible, with all speech or text reduced to static.
You are all alone and on your own, and must therefore make do and survive without any kind of assistance, while contemplating on your solitude and place within the infinitely vast, empty universe.
Outside of the expedition, as of the Worlds Part II update, players can now also start and play a campaign in "Abandoned Mode", which makes the universe just as empty, abandoned and silent as it was during the expedition.
Gameplay[]
Players starting this expedition will start on planet Anussi in the Xillup system with a Derelict Freighter in the sky, with their starship a few hundred units away from their spawn. The player's Exosuit specifications are:
- Capacity of 31 Cargo slots and 19 Technology slots.
- You will have some items: 2 Life Support Gels and 1,250 Projectile Ammunition.
- Technologies installed are a Jetpack, Hazard Protection, Life Support, a B-Class Jetpack Upgrade, and a C-Class Life Support Upgrade.
Spawn Starship specifications:
- You will start with a random Shuttle.
- Your starship will have 25 Cargo slots and 13 Technology slots.
- Your starship will have the installed technologies Launch Thruster and Pulse Engine damaged, Rocket Launcher, Deflector Shield, Photon Cannon and some damaged components.
- In addition, you can copy your current starship at an Expedition Terminal.
Spawn Multi-Tool specifications:
- C-class rifle with 19 slots.
- Your Multi-Tool will have the following technologies: Mining Beam, Scanner, A-class Scanner Upgrade Module, Analysis Visor, Terrain Manipulator, Boltcaster and Boltcaster Ricochet Module installed and also some damaged components.
- In addition, you can copy your current Multi-Tool at an Expedition Terminal.
