Expedition 4: Emergence describes the fourth expedition in No Man's Sky.
Summary[ | ]
This page documents the fourth expedition of No Man's Sky, called Emergence. It began on 20 October 2021, 4 days after the end of the third expedition.
Gameplay[ | ]
Emergence is focused primarily on deep exploration of a single planet and related sandworms. This season places all expeditioners on the planet Wasan, a barren world ravaged by dust storms and infested with Titan Worms. It is up to the players to locate the Titan Worm impact sites, destroy the wretched Hungering Tendrils, and collect the Vile Spawn that lingers behind. The vessels of the many mouths must be purged!
As travellers cleanse planets of cursed dust and hunt the titanic sandworms, they will unravel the threads of a dark narrative. Completing the expedition route will reveal the history of a dark Vy'keen cult, and ultimately confront the Atlas with evidence of this indelible stain upon the universe.
All players start on an extreme Barren planet ~1000u from their broken starship, located at a random Point of Interest. The starting starship is a random hauler with 15+4 slots, equipped with a random upgrade module.
In addition to the blueprints known at the beginning of normal mode, the player also knows the following blueprints:

- Constructed Technology
The starting Multi-tool in Expedition 4 is a random C-class rifle with 15 slots, random weapon, and Analysis Visor and Combat Scope pre-installed.
The Exosuit is initially equipped with two heat protection upgrades and an X-Class upgrade to a Hazard Protection system; has a Save Point, Portable Refiner, and 180 Sodium, 500 Projectile Ammunition and 5 Ion batteries in the inventory; and has 30+8+8 slots. The initial avatar appearance is randomly-generated.
