NmsMisc Extreme Survival Milestone

Maximum level - 48 sols

Extreme Survival is one of the Journey Milestones.

Summary[ | ]

In order to achieve any of the Extreme Survival milestones, the player must be on a planet with extreme conditions. Any planet where the weather status is displayed in red font counts as an extreme planet. They are also distinguished by the word "Extreme" appearing above the Hazard Protection bar. Additionally, the planet must drain your hazard protection. Extreme lush planets often have normal conditions during clear weather. These periods do not count towards the milestone.

How to achieve[ | ]

The best known method to achieve this milestone to the maximum tier (48 Sols) with the least amount of effort is to sit in any land exocraft except for the minotaur to achieve the maximum tier. If the exocraft hazard protection upgrades are installed, you don't even need to recharge your hazard protection.

You cannot just let the game run in the background to achieve this milestone while you're in singleplayer. Technically, the game runs, but most of the features and functionalities stop if no other players are in the system. This means that you will need to be tabbed into the game to achieve progress towards the Sol counter for the Milestone.

Extreme worlds are more common in Green Star Systems (which require an Emeril Drive to be accessed).

List of Milestones[ | ]

Additional Information[ | ]

As of the Update 4.00 this milestone does not show Sols anymore, but minutes on the milestone itself. The counter counts up in in-game minutes rather than in real-time minutes. One in-game minute equals to one real-time second.

You do not need to be in the Survival game mode in order to achieve the Steam milestones that reference Extreme Survival.

It might be a good idea to bring extra resources to recharge Exosuit hazard protection. Alternatively, you can use the Roamer or other exocraft, or Terrain Manipulator to burrow just under the surface of an extreme planet, just far enough to escape the effects of the weather, and stop your oxygen from depleting. Stay in the hazardous weather long enough to drop your red hazard protection bar below 100%, then head back underground. Your hazard protection will not recharge automatically while under the surface, so you will continue to earn time towards your survival milestones, even after the storm passes. This method is boring but will not require resources for recharging.
