The Fifty Niners are a Civilized space society.
It is located in the Sea of Gizhigga region of the Ploehrliou galaxy.
Mission[ | ]
The mission of the Fifty Niners is mainly to create a hub for intergalactic travel in Ploehrliou, as well as provide a civspace for Ploehrliou travellers. We want to "put Ploehrliou on the map". There are only a few members which fully share this goal.
Background[ | ]
The original idea for this civilization was by user Lanrepta but was abandoned after he stopped playing No Man's Sky. It was finally established by his friends after their journey to the 59th galaxy. After gaining several members, the community thrived before mostly dying due to lack of interest. The civ still remains, as its few members still desire to explore, catalogue, and popularize Ploehrliou.
Naming Guidelines[ | ]
Members are encouraged to name systems with the suffix " -59". The suffix is not necessary for planets/moons for simplicity's sake. Black Hole systems should have a BH before the suffix, and Atlas Interfaces should have an AI before the suffix.
Fifty Niners appreciate the proc-generated names of systems and planets, and thus many retain their original name. For example, the Bungot system now has the name "Bungot -59". Members may still name systems and planets whatever they like, but the -59 suffix is necessary on system names for documentation reasons and so that others may recognize our civspace.

Only people with an evident intention to peacefully explore Ploehrliou and to grow its popularity will be considered, as this civ is no longer meant to be as much of a community as a society.
