FTL propulsion drive for warp speed | |
Category | Starship |
Type | Lightspeed Warp Drive |
Recharged with | Warp Cell, Warp Hypercore |
Updated | Expeditions |
Frameshift Catapult is a hyperdrive technology.
Summary[ | ]
The Frameshift Catapult is an alternative hyperdrive technology first introduced in Expedition 3: Cartographers.
It is a special alternative Hyperdrive on the player's starting starship. During the Expedition, it needs to be repaired shortly after the player leaves the starting planet.
Once repaired, it can be recharged with Warp Cells or a Warp Hypercore.
Game Description[ | ]
This experimental drive augments conventional hyperdrive technology by distorting local geometry at the point of warp initialisation, boosting range and efficiency far beyond standard drives.
User is advised to access Hyperdrive systems through the Galactic Map.
Repairs[ | ]
Frameshift Catapult can be repaired using the following ingredients:
- Ionised Cobalt ×63 + Larval Core ×3 + Gravitino Ball ×3
Additional information[ | ]
As stated in the game description, this hyperdrive is superior to the more conventional hyperdrive. If one would use a save editing tool to replace the standard hyperdrive module on a starship with a Frameshift outside of Expedition 3, the hyperdrive capabilities would be considerabily improved over the original drive. Experiments have shown that the author's Fighter-Class ship was able to reach Hyperdrive ranges of well over 2,000 lightyears using the Frameshift and six X-class hyperdrive upgrades at 300 ly each, surpassing many other fighters ly ranges in the process.
