Funky Claude GHEC Pavilion is a player base.

Summary[ | ]

Funky Claude GHEC Pavilion is a player base, located on the planet Petridish in the HUB4-EB Argon system. It is the official headquarters of the Galactic Hub Exobiology Corps, in addition to their secondary headquarters in the Galactic Hub Administrative Zone.

The main feature of the Funky Claude GHEC Pavilion is the large Greater Mushroom Beetle shaped building. Specifically, the building was modeled after the famous Galactic Hub GMB from Axby Delta, Funky Claude.

Due to the complexity of the base, perhaps worsened by the high graphical demands of the stormy planet, it's common for this base to struggle to render even on current-gen hardware. However, it will render in time, with some help like reloading your save nearby, teleporting from the Space Station teleporter, or exiting and reentering the atmosphere.

Layout[ | ]

Upon landing on the one available landing pad by the sea, visitors will step out onto a grand welcoming dock featuring golden statues, pulsating light-bars, a Teleporter, and various flora. Proceeding up this welcoming dock, visitors will enter a small building with a Short-Range Teleporter (SRT) leading to a relaxation area within a large glass dome.

Within the break area, two central SRTs are surrounded by a series of couches facing inward, with a bioluminescent mushroom on each side providing light. This building offers a beautiful view of both the coast and the surrounding forest. Accessing the second SRT will teleport players to the main GMB-shaped building.

This SRT places you within the torso of the GMB building. The core focus of the GMB building is a long table where meetings are held. Aside from that, the periphery of the main room of this building features various biological enclosure / containment units. These are primarily used to hold biological horrors and other monstrosities, but one also holds a nice tropical fish tank, surrounded by small palms.

Within the mushroom-cap of the GMB building, which can only be accessed via jetpack, players will find a small (and very symmetrical) mushroom garden.

Features[ | ]

This base exists primarily for aesthetic and metagame purposes. It does not offer many conventional gameplay benefits, such as farms or resource deposits.

Additional information[ | ]

This base was used for the video "Galactic Hub Project Video Trailer - What is the Galactic Hub?" at 0:46. Interlopers in the video (mostly GHEC members) summoned GMBs native to the Galactic Hub and watched them run around on the grass in front of the Pavilion.

A variety of other GHEC bases can be found on this planet, such as A Mustaikis GHEC HQ and GPIEC Services Center for GHEC Researchers, among others.
