Tips for a Successful game[]

  1. Do not play Gekas Holdem in a group / party - always use ambient multiplayer.
  2. Do not use any weapons to enable the buttons - press the buttons properly!
  3. If there are any sync issues or issues with the teleporters not working:
    1. Everyone warp out of the system.
    2. Everyone warp back into the system.
  4. Use the first person camera for a better view of the table and players.
  5. Once the turn light is on at your pod, wait for the turn light to turn off in the previous pod before continuing - do not rush the round passing logic!
  6. Do not over bet - there are only 5 chip lights that are shared - bet lightly!
  7. When the game is over, exit via the teleporters - there is no need to press the fold button.

Starting the Game[]

All four pods must be entered before the game will start. There are four outer corner lights that will light up once dealing has started.

If you are playing with less than four players, perform the following steps:

  1. Enter the pod where there won't be a player.
  2. Press the Fold button and teleport out.
  3. Repeat if only two players are playing.

Once the game has started, all teleporters at ground level will be deactivated. They are also deactivated when a player is in the pod.

The player table has three buttons from left to right:

  • Bet: The bet button displays a green light above the player's pod and enables the player to place chips.
  • Chip: The chip button will light up the chip lights in front of the player. The chip lights are shared between players.
  • Pass: The pass button will pass the turn onto the next player.

Folding: To fold, press the fold button next to the teleporter at the back of the player pod.

Turn Light:

  • When it is the player's turn, two pink turn lights will light up in the table.
  • The table buttons will only have power once their turn light is on.

Bet Lights:

  • When the bet button is pressed, two green lights will turn on above the player's head.
  • The bet lights will turn off once the player has passed.

Fold Lights:

  • When the player presses the fold button, a single red light will turn on above the player's head.
  • The light will stay on for the remainder of the game.

Game Lights:

  • Four corner lights will illuminate once the game has started.
  • These lights will turn off once the game has ended.

Dealer Lights:

  • Four purple lights will turn on when a number is being dealt on the board.
  • These lights will remain on during the reveal.

Game Play[]

Once everyone's numbers have been dealt, the turn lights will illuminate for player 1.

Turns are always in a clock-wise pattern (to the left).

Pods that have been folded will automatically pass the turn. No folded pods will ever reveal numbers at game end.

If three out of four players fold, the game instantly ends and resets.

Players can re-raise as much as they want - the bet button always resets the betting cycle.

Betting Cycle

  • If nobody bets, all four players must pass (check) or fold.
  • After someone bets, three subsequent players must pass (call) or fold to change the round.
  • If one of those subsequent players decides to bet (raise), the cycle resets and requires three more players to pass (call) or fold.

Rounds

  • There are 3 rounds in Gekas Holdem after all pre-betting has concluded.
  • Dealing lights will illuminate once a number is being generated and turn off once complete.
  • The betting cycle must be completed fully in order to advance the rounds.

Revealing Cards

  • All players that have not folded at the end of the game will have their hand revealed via powered doors that open in the front of the table.
  • If three players fold, nobody's hand is revealed and the game ends.
  • The reveal is only for 10 seconds - make sure to capture everyone's hand for validity!

Game End

  • Once the reveal is complete, the lights will turn off and everyone's teleporters will enable.
  • IMPORTANT - Do NOT press the fold button at this stage. It is not needed and might screw up the circuit.

Scoring[]

Below are the rankings of the hands (subject to change):

  1. Straight
  2. Five of a kind
  3. Four of a kind
  4. Full House
  5. Three of a kind
  6. Two of a kind
  7. Additive total of player hand

Tie Breakers - if two or more players have the same hand ranking, the numbers in their hand will be added up to determine the winner.

Committing Chips / Hubcoin[]

Each chip is tied to a certain Hubcoin amount. This amount can be determined prior to game start.

Chip lights are shared between all players. The last person to bet chips resets the betting cycle where all subsequent players must commit the same amount of chips (pass), raise (bet), or fold.

At the end of the round, the chip lights are all added together and awarded to the winning player.
