The Hublic Broadcasting Service is a media organization.
Summary[ | ]
The Hublic Broadcasting Service (HBS) is an official media production subdivision of the Galactic Hub Project.
Duties include producing videos for the Galactic Hub YouTube channel (recording, acting, editing); building movie sets at player bases (solo or in coordination with the Galactic Hub Builders Guild); advertising HBS or other Hub content; identifying and reaching out to content creators for new partnerships; and otherwise aiding in any sort of media production efforts within Hub space.
The HBS was officially established August 5, 2022 following a discussion with various Galactic Hub members the prior day.
The HBS coordinates their efforts in their dedicated channels in the Galactic Hub Assembly Discord server. To aid in production, HBS roles are specific to each volunteer position (Editor, Actor, etc). If you need help with a specific job and you're a member of the HBS, never hesitate to ping (tag) the entire role in question to request support!
Mission[ | ]
The mission of the Hublic Broadcasting Service is to:
- produce media content for the Galactic Hub YouTube channel in any format - ByteBeat mixes, Machinima-style videos, informational content, Galactic Hub Star League highlight videos or livestreams, or any other Hub-related content a HBS member creates (within reasonable quality).
- upload or, when possible and necessary, edit video content produced by members of the Hublic.
- construct movie set-style builds within player bases, either with the Galactic Hub Builders Guild or more independently.
- identify and reach out to content creators to arrange new partnerships. One common arrangement is that content creators produce a certain type of video series for the Galactic Hub YouTube channel (which is non-monetized) in exchange for promotion on their own channels (which may be monetized if they so choose).
- advertise HBS and other Hub content.

- Scriptwriter: Creates scripts for long-form content.
- Actor(s)/Actress(es) - No Voice Acting: Features in visual content but not audio.
- Actor(s)/Actress(es) - Incl. Voice Acting: Features in audio and visual content.
- Set Construction Worker(s): Constructs production sets.
- Production Assistant(s): Miscellaneous tasks, including creation of visuals and promotional blurbs.
- Advertising / Recruiting Agent(s) Advertises HBS & Hublic media content. Identifies and coordinates with content creators for new partnerships.
- ByteBeat Producer(s): Arranges ByteBeat compositions for specific productions.
