Today, while exploring the nearby systems, I came upon an unusual system. Just two lonely planets orbiting a blue star, out in the void.
They are fire and ice-- one a highly volcanic storm planet with rivers of lava, cakes of basalt, and no fauna life to be found. The other a frozen hellscape, populated only by sentinels. The sentinels themselves are even sluggish, as if whatever happened to this star system stole the hope even from them.
An abandoned space station hangs over these twin planets, a silent observer and keeper of secrets. Of Gek manufacture, yes, but nothing else remains of that species.
I took my trusty starship and pointed her to the space between the planets, seeking anything I could. Only to find one a horrific creature floating out in space, a gigantic eye that followed me. Attacking, it attacked back and seemed to be immortal, undying.
I fled back to the inner star system and warped back to the safety of my freighter.
Beware, fellow Travelers, of Hyugaigo VIII. This dead system holds nothing of value for the living. Only dangers and tragedy.
