Ifrods IX is a planet.

Summary[]

Ifrods IX is a large overgrown planet in the star system Kamaix-Guchu on PC Version No Man's Sky universe.

Planet Information[]

Survival and permadeath mode description: The new kid on the block, this mythical lush planet's slightly less-than-ideal weather and horrible underwater biome are more than made up by its scenic and picturesque mountain ranges and its ethereal, mystical and dream-like high fantasy feel.   This world has been classified as a Near-Eden World. It fell short of being considered perfect due to moderate weather and high sentinel activity.

Normal mode description: The new kid on the block, this mythically horrible lush planet is a festering, putrid, acrid, disgusting, horrifying, nauseating, disease-causing, stress-inducing, vile and utterly repugnant Yersinia pestis infected rat-infested cesspool, thanks to something far, far worse than the intense hatred and darkest evil humankind has ever done and accumulated since its evolution from primitive primates, ******* sentinels!!! THERE IS NO WAY THIS PLANET IS A NEAR-EDEN WORLD, THANKS TO THOSE PIECES OF SENTINEL, SENTINELS!!!

Geology[]

Ifrods IX Surface13

The planet has widely varying of terrain. Rolling plains are found near the sea while mountains interspersed with valleys and high plateaus are further inland.

Ifrods IX is a large continental lush planet.

Each planet and moon in No Man's Sky have just one Terrain Archetype. In this case, it has the more mountainous version of the Monoliths archetype, so far called "Monoliths M". Despite this limitation, the planet somehow has widely varied terrain. Relatively smooth coastal plains and rolling hills can be found closer to the sea and near larger bodies of water. As one goes further inland, the landscape gradually transforms into a mountainous splendor best appreciated in person. Majestic mountain ranges interspersed with valleys and high plateaus dominate the terrain inland, resulting in awe-inspiring and breathtaking views.

The average elevation varies depending on its proximity to bodies of water. It tends to be lower and flatter near larger bodies of water. Near the sea or ocean, relatively smooth low-lying plains can be found here, occasionally becoming somewhat hilly. Near larger lakes inland, rolling hills can be found rising to a height that is approximately similar to the highest peaks in normal terrain archetypes. Near smaller bodies of water or a lack thereof, it will be surrounded by mountains of greatly varying height, with some being relatively low while others shooting up into the clouds. In-between the mountains, valleys and high plateaus can be found.

Caves are frequent here especially near Waypoints. Inside them are intricate and maze-like tunnels. When a cave forms on the side of a tall mountain, some of them will have an opening near or at the top and have a really long, deep drop to the base of the mountain. They are unusually rich in resources and plant life. Bioluminescent Cave Marrow flowers are frequent, Cobalt stalagmites and stalactites are everywhere and rocks made of Ferrite Dust and Pure Ferrite are scattered all over, especially in entrances.

Atmosphere and Climate[]

Ifrods IX Surface5

A light pink fog envelops the land, creating a mystical feel. It is a bit thicker at lower elevations.

The weather of Ifrods IX is one of peace and tranquility for the most part. It is usually mild, with pleasant 21.4C (70.5F) weather at noon, going down to a cool 12C (53.6F) at night. Occasionally, a superheated rainstorm will sweep across the land, causing torrential rain, lightning, and an increase in temperature to a scalding hot 102C (215.6C) Though this may be an undesirable nuisance for perfectionist pathfinders seeking paradise planets with perfect, pristine, clear, no-storms weather, it is an absolute must for a planet located so far away from its parent star. If it weren't for the superheated rainstorms, this planet would've been a frozen wasteland. This also keeps temperatures throughout the entire planet relatively uniform, whether at the equator or the poles.

The planet's sky color is also the result of its parent star's distance. Instead of a sky blue color it is light pink, as red wavelengths travel farther than blue ones. Even the planet's fog is a light pink color. When combined with the green grass, blue waters, purple trees and breathtaking terrain, the result is an ethereal, mystical feel that seemingly came straight out of a best-selling high-fantasy novel.

Things to Do[]

Ifrods IX Surface6

The mountain over there looks like a giant exocraft ramp.

With a relaxing color palette, wide variety of terrain, abundance of life and the many Waypoints seemingly dangling at the edge of ravines, there are so many things to do in Ifrods IX.

Bask in the sun and enjoy the many beaches by the coast. Swim and dive down into the pristine blue waters. Go underwater, exploit its resources and destroy everything because this planet's underwater biome just plain sucks. Go on a relaxing hike and go through the many mystical and mythical lush forests and gardens of this flawed, yet wonderful paradise. Despite the ever-present fog, there is almost nothing to worry - the predatory fauna never hunts travelers as long as they're undisturbed and as long as you're not a normal mode player, the pieces of sentinel will leave you alone. Just be prepared for the occasional superheated rainstorms and the possible lightning storms. While storms can be a nuisance to those finding the perfect paradise, they are vital to keeping this planet lush. The parent star is really far away! Not only that, it is only during storms when one can jetpack literally from mountaintop to mountaintop without risk of death due to falling.

Is the coast too wet and its air too salty? How about going further inland. Observe the terrain gradually shift from coastal plains, to rolling hills and eventually, stunning mountain ranges, valleys and plateaus. Go inland via exocraft or starship. Settle down the hills, find a picturesque lake and just enjoy. Walk around, swim and go fishing (not in-game yet). If you really want the most stunning, jaw-dropping and breathtaking views, go further inland and see the mountains. They look good in pictures but they are so much better in person. Fly around by starship, going through the valleys and over the mountains. Go on an epic off-road trip with your exocraft and experience the thrill of falling off from the top of a mountain and down into the valleys below, especially during a storm. Go on a hike and gain athleticism and endurance, traversing through the challenging terrain. The rewards for a difficult and tiring journey are truly worth it.

Finally, if you really love this mythical lush paradise, why not settle down here, maybe for life? With such scenery and splendor, it is difficult to leave. There is always something breathtaking around the corner of the nearby valley, plateau, or mountain. Unfortunately, or rather fortunately, this makes finding a sweet spot incredibly difficult because almost, if not everywhere in this planet has stunning views. If you finally found that perfect spot, then welcome to your home in a mythical, mystical, ethereal lush paradise.

All the wonderful goodness of this planet are exclusive to Survival and Permadeath players only. Normal mode players, STAY AWAY. The piece of sentinel will hunt you down 'till you leave or you die by their sentinel-y hands.

Life[]

Ifrods IX Surface7

One can see the dominant fauna here. The strider is to the left while the cow is at the center.

Note: This section is under development.
The superheated rainstorms keeping the planet at pleasant temperatures result in life flourishing in great numbers everywhere. Green grass and species of purple-leaf trees are the dominant flora while 3.0m herbivore striders and weird cows are the dominant fauna. While the underwater ocean biome is dead and horrible, there is quite a lot of aquatic fauna, including a mermaid-like species a of SEASNAKE.

The planet that does not exist... ?

Ifrods IX Surface4

"This... planet... is... GLORIOUS!!!"

This section is Fan Fiction. The information found here is not an actual part of the released game, but a user-invented addition to the wiki.

Right in front of Khan Ezegnegch's eyes is a huge lush planet only he can see. His starship's instruments can't detect it. Sudlakh can't see it. Before pulse jumping, he ordered Sudlakh to stay put and await further orders. Off he goes. After just 5 seconds, his heavily upgraded starship enters the planet's atmosphere. Towering storm clouds filled the sky and below it, a heavy storm with some lightning and thunder-booms. It is as heavy as planets with "normal" weather, but with lightning and thunder. He saw a lot of planets having new, fancy lightning and thunder since the great, almighty deity wearing a plaid shirt and his benevolent team of deities caused another great change in the universe and thought it is nothing new since the great change. As he is flying through and surveying the planet, scanners indicate it is something he has seen many times again and again - a lush planet that isn't anything special.

As the storm cleared though, it revealed its colors. The atmosphere's color is light pink but there's something new - there's a pink fog on the surface. Besides that, nothing seems out of the ordinary. He landed on the coast and found nothing much. The grass is green and the water has a pristine blue color, similar to the 3rd planet of a star in another dimension, but with a light pink sky. The underwater biome is horrible, lacking Cyto-Phosphate while still having incredibly annoying exploding jellyfishes that appear out of ******* nowhere when blasting random rocks. He walked around and found telltale signs of the "Monoliths" terrain archetype. At first it seems like another lush planet with typical terrain, becoming more and more boring the more he explores. He went back to his starship and flew went inland to check out what it's like. He's supposed to just fly around for about an hour or so and just leave... until he noticed something different with the terrain.

As he went further inland, the terrain gradually became mountainous. Really mountainous. He thought it might be similar to the uber-extreme terrain his explorers have been reporting, like the capital planet at the red zone with its dangerous terrain or the large marsh planet discovered just recently. But on closer inspection, he noticed valleys, plateaus, rolling hills, beautiful lakes surrounded by majestic peaks. It is an awe-inspiring, breathtaking sight to behold. The Khan landed and boy oh boy he's in for a treat. It is even better to be amongst it all, and it is just GLORIOUS. The light fog adds a kind of ethereal, mystical feel to all of the planet's magnificent terrain, as if it came right out of a best-selling high-fantasy novel.

"I thought I'll never find another planet as beautiful and lovely as Chrima E16... I was wrong. Despite its flaws, this... planet... is... GLORIOUS!!!" He shouted, standing on the edge of a steep drop overlooking the mountain range and the valley below it. cue the music "Supermoon" by 65dos as the scene zooms out.

Soon, Khan Ezegnegch claimed an abandoned Shelter as his own and built a quaint little cottage to call home, located hidden in a mountain range he named "Worgen's Warren".

"I do believe I am back home..." Khan Ezegnegch said with a fulfilled, satisfied look on his face.

"It's good to see you again, old friend." He said, as he entered his newly built home.

However, the question still remains... Does this planet even exist?
