J. Diplogugustea is a creature in the No Man's Sky universe.
It is a member of the Rhopalocera genus. This particular species of butterfly is a member of the rare subgenus category Seraph Butterfly, exhibiting the characteristic ethereal six wings. This example is nicknamed "Maimonides" after the medieval religious philosopher and scientist of that name. Maimonides describes angels in a hierarchy using ten different levels, with the fifth highest being the Seraphim.
Appearance[]
This round head Seraph is adorned with a red head and antennae, with red and teal stripes along its body, and the Seraph's usual eyespots on each of its six wings.

Torched by the extreme solar heat, Maimonides (J. Diplogugustea) survives on planet Xidiusa VII. Their lives are painfully short, and these flying insects spend their handful of days in a furious quest to mate. Their diet is varied, but they will gorge upon Solar Vine at any opportunity.
