Korvax Echoes are Korvax lore.

Summary

The Korvax Echoes are a collection of shared knowledge and experience of the Korvax race.

For many generations, Korvax entities have made the choice to disconnect from society and their metallic shells (the "fading process") and become one of the Echoes. While the shells were recycled by new Korvax, the knowledge became part of shared racial memory.

They have been referred to as the "ever enduring Entities of the Convergence."

History

When the Monoliths of the Atlas awoke the initial civilizations of the Outer Edge, the Korvax began their record keeping. Over untold years, the knowledge continued to expand and grow. This original repository of race history was located on Korvax Prime in a neural networking hub. Korvax lore declares, "Within its foundations we stored the memories of our race, an ever evolving equation that defines us."

However, the entire collection was lost during the First Spawn War. The Gek saw Korvax Prime as a tremendous source of war material, describing the planet as a ""vast and precious landscape of mineral ore and power". In the end, the First Spawn destroyed the planet in an event known in Korvax lore as the Great Disconnection. It is considered to be the most devastating event in the history of their race. Not only were most of the Korvax destroyed, but centuries of shared knowledge were wiped out forever.

Continuation

After the Korvax regained their freedom, the process of disconnection was reborn, allowing new Echoes to be created. These Echoes can be contacted through Korvax plaques, and will impart wisdom to those who desire it. Visitors to these plaques describe the process as follows:

• The ancient marker hums at a frequency that burrows deep into my being, filling me with the voices of the Korvax Echoes.
• I hear the distant voices of the Korvax Entities who once worshipped here. As they whisper, words written in my own language flow faintly on the monument. The Echoes want to be heard.
• Whispers spill from the sharp edges of the artifact, recounting the dreams and memories of the Korvax Echoes in my mother tongue.
• The strange stone marker imparts the wisdom of the Korvax Echoes to those who desire it. I do not know that dialect it speaks, yet somehow I understand the story of those who once worshipped here.

All Korvax have access to the Echoes and constantly upload information to it. Although each Korvax is a unique entity, they are all connected through the Convergence.
