Landing Pad is a base building product.
Summary[ | ]
Landing Pad is a base building product that provides a platform where starships can land and take off. This includes not only the player's ship, but NPC traders.
- Players may call their ship to a landing pad using Navigation Data.
- Taking off from a landing pad has no Launch Thruster cost.
- Starships will be placed upon available landing pads when teleporting back to the player’s base.
- When constructing a Landing Pad, they can only be attached to the following items:
- any flatpack full-sized wall panel (wooden, concrete, or steel)
- Glass Roofed Corridor
- Straight Corridor
- Cylindrical Room
- Cuboid Room
- Door
Game description[ | ]
A stable, reinforced landing pad for starships.
Sources[ | ]
Landing Pad can be built using a blueprint and the following ingredients:
- Metal Plating ×10 + Ion Battery ×2 + Microprocessor ×2 → Landing Pad
Additional information[ | ]
- The blueprint is acquired from the Base Computer Archives mission.
- If any sort of structure is placed directly above the Landing Pad, it will prevent NPC ships landing on it.
- When selecting a pad to place it, you may notice a small screen standing upward at the corner. You can rotate the landing pad, and when you do, it will change the direction any ship faces whenever it lands there. The small screen will face away from the left side of the ship - for example, if it is desired that the ship point north after landing, make sure the small screen faces west.
Release history[ | ]
- Release - Introduced to the game.
- Foundation - Added as a base building product.
- Atlas Rises - Blueprint changed, formerly used Voltaic Cell, Non-ferrous Plate, and Lubricant.
- NEXT - Blueprint changed, formerly used Voltaic Cell, Weatherproof Rubber, and Lubricant. Navigation Data is now used instead of a Bypass Chip to summon a ship.
- NEXT 1.63 - Teleporting back to the player's base places the starship on the landing pad, previously it did not. Fixed an issue that could allow multiple starships to be docked on the same landing pad in multiplayer.
- Beyond - Due to the increase of the size of starships, the landing pad was removed from all existing bases and can be re-acquired by rebuilding them.
