Geography[]

Lejo Tau Surface4

Massive and imposing mountain ranges can be found inland.

Lejo Tau is a large continental lush planet.

First impressions of the planet's terrain depends on where one decides to explore. Closer to the sea, the terrain resembles most planets with the "Hills" Terrain Archetype except it is flatter than usual. The anvil-shaped land formations seem to be larger and grander in size, sometimes resulting in the terrain looking windswept when viewed from a distance. It is only when one really goes inland where the planet's true terrain archetype is revealed. Massive and imposing mountain ranges dominate the landscape, resulting in breathtaking views. They shoot high into the sky, easily reaching the cloud layer with the help of the anvils. In-between the mountain ranges are wide, open plains or expansive marshlands ornamented by anvil-shaped rock formations. Caves are frequent, though their entrances are usually pits partially obscured by grass.

Lejo Tau's breathtaking views are almost beyond compare at certain parts where the ringed planet proudly displays its splendor in the sky.

The planet can be considered to be almost perfect. However, for most travelers, the red color of its oceans can be a turn-off. Its Cyto-Phosphate-rich oceans results in a never-ending supply of Candelabra Bloom chandeliers ready for use in bases or for selling in the market. Unlike past planets with this particular ocean biome, it now has a little bit of Chlorine-concentrated rocks, making the biome significantly more useful.

Atmosphere and Climate[]

Lejo Tau Cloudiness

This lush paradise is rather cloudy.

Lejo Tau is located on the outer edge of the star's Goldilocks Zone, resulting in pink skies instead of blue. The weather is supposed to be colder, similar to Ifrods IX at night (12C / 53.6F). But due to the close proximity of the extremely toxic ringed garbage in the sky, the climate is a bit toasty but still manageable, with temperatures ranging from a comfy 23.7C (74.7F) at night to a sweaty 41.3C (106.3F) at noon. Interaction with the neighboring planet results in planet-wide stable weather, free of all storms and drama, though it can get rather cloudy at times. The wind is stronger on the side facing the neighboring planet, resulting in more blissful weather that feels a bit cooler than what its temperature suggests.

While the atmosphere is composed mostly of Argon, the rapidly increasing number of harmful Oxygen-rich plants made the atmosphere somewhat breathable. However, the Oxygen level still isn't saturated enough to allow normal breathing without the help of Life Support systems or a lung adapted to really high elevation. Imagine living in a place that is 6,400 meters (4 miles) above sea level at this planet's sea level. That's what it's like here.

Things to Do[]

Lejo Tau Mistsplitter Valley

Mistsplitter Valley is one of the most scenic areas in the planet.

There are so many things to do in such a beautiful, idyllic world. Sightseeing is highly recommended especially in the mountainous interior. Whether on foot, via exocraft or flying through the mountains, it will never disappoint except for the most demanding and discriminating of earth-like lush planet connoisseurs. Find one of the many waypoints and bases that dot the planet and just relax and unwind. The blissful, windy weather will calm down even the most troubled and stressed of souls. Visit the small village with a big heart, Kosel Village and go on sightseeing and eco-tours at affordable prices while getting to know the locals. Marvel in awe at the ringed planet in the sky, truly a sight to behold and one for the memory books.

If mountains aren't your thing, try the beach. Sure the water may look like a nasty red tide gone horribly wrong, but the microorganisms here are actually not life-threatening or harmful, provided your species are either compatible or have strong immune systems to handle them. Go on a deep dive, explore the seas and notice the plentiful giant pulsating tumors that dominate the deep. If you have a legitimate multi-tool license, you can actually earn a good fortune destroying the tumors for Cyto-Phosphate, which is currently in high demand as they're a primary ingredient in making some of the most luxurious chandeliers and decorations in the universe.

Life[]

Lejo Tau Forest

A dense and lively forest.

Note: This section is under development.
It is not just the weather the beautiful toxic ringed garbage in the sky influences. Life on the planet is also somewhat affected by it, as interstellar winds blow a tiny amount of its toxic particles into space. Elevated levels of Cyto-Phosphate caused the oceans to turn from a turquoise hue to something more reddish due to the proliferation of dinoflagellate-similar organisms. Over time, they formed giant pulsating tumor-like colonies which eventually colonized most of the world's oceans. While the grass remained green, its shape became more rounded or more clover-like in appearance. The leaves of many trees and forests turned into a more reddish color. Inside the caves are dazzling bioluminescent species of fungi and flora.

However, as time passes, the oversaturation of dinoflagellate-like organisms and the rise of one or more species of microorganisms caused a great extinction event, killing almost, if not all of them. What is left are the former remains of the growths scattered all over the ocean floor and the formation of rocks and minerals rich in Chlorine and Pure Ferrite. Over time, Cyto-Phosphate plants started appearing again, its numbers multiplying as the oceans' color slowly change from bloody red to golden. The planet's good fortunes grew further when influence from the toxic ringed hellhole in the sky spurred new growths of giant insect species, their outer chitin shells and juicy innards perfect for making powerful armor and delicious "Insect Jelly", as well as kicking off new bug-hunting sporting events.

Lejo Tau Winhill Mountain Home

Khan Ezegnegch enjoying himself in a mythically beautiful lush paradise of bliss.

Lejo Tau almost immediately replaced Ifrods IX as Khan Ezegnegch's secret paradise resort world the moment he discovered it. He loves this planet so much, its existence is kept a secret to even his closest friends and allies. Not counting the Korvax, this planet is barely inhabited by the star system's native sentient species - only the wealthiest and most powerful can be found here. Most of the population of this highly corrupt Kardashev-2 civilized space are found in the volcanic homeworld and the toxic ringed garbage.

When he noticed the paradise lush world being slowly polluted and destroyed by the powerful, corrupted oligarchs who live here, he intervened and killed them all without mercy and hesitation. Singlehandedly. Using his decades of experience as the leader of an authoritarian near Kardashev-3 civilization and the powers he gained after going through a near-death experience in Cesonja Major, he started a fierce anti-corruption crusade that lasted many years, but ultimately resulted in increased prosperity for its people. More righteous, worthy and competent leaders lead this renewed civilization, enabling it to become a somewhat rowdy but fledgling interstellar civilization. All of his experience in bringing prosperity to the civilization comes at a low cost - ensure the lush planet's beauty remains as unchanged as possible, turning it into a resort world that is the envy of all... if one looks hard enough to find it. Once the civilization became strong enough to stand on its own without his help, he left it to its devices.

As of now, Khan Ezegnegch made a resort home for himself on top of the planet's tallest mountain, a beachside property, an underwater villa, as well as a FISD Farm to further boost the civilization's economy without affecting the planet's inherent mythical beauty and a small village he owns located in a scenic spot for eco-tourism and a bit of extra income.

There was a period of time where the dominant Cyto-Phosphate rich lifeforms went through a mass extinction due to oversaturation of Cyto-Phosphate, suffocating the oceans. Despite the "dead" ocean biome, new Cyto-Phosphate lifeforms are starting to appear. The mass-extinction caused the Cyto-Phosphate, lighting and luxury furniture industry on the planet to move to the toxic ringed hellhole in the sky. But because the substance is slowly returning, businesses are also slowly moving back and the planet's economy will be more robust and diversified once again.
