Summary[edit | edit source]
Living Slime (Jn) is a resource and one of the junk special elements.
Game description[edit | edit source]
A heavy, oozing slime. It is moving gently, as if it has a heartbeat of its own.
Nutrient source: unknown.
Source[edit | edit source]
Living Slime can be acquired in several ways:
- purchased and sold at Galactic Trade Terminals and NPCs for a profit.
- found in alien-infested Derelict Freighters.
- sometimes dropped when killing fauna on Exotic planets.
Living Slime can be refined using a Refiner with the following ingredients:
Viscous Fluids x1 →
Living Slime x1 ("Recycle Waste Materials", 0.6 sec./unit output)
Hypnotic Eye x1 →
Living Slime x50 ("Biological Purge", 0.6 sec./unit output)
Use[edit | edit source]
Through multiple steps of refining, Residual Goop can be converted to Viscous Fluids, to Living Slime, to Runaway Mould and then to Nanite Cluster.
Crafting[edit source]
Living Slime is not used as an ingredient for crafting.
Refining[edit source]
Living Slime is used as an ingredient for refining the following products using a Refiner:
-
Runaway Mould -- Living Slime x1 →
Runaway Mould x1 ("Recycle Waste Materials", 0.6 sec./unit output)
Cooking[edit source]
Living Slime is not used as an ingredient for cooking using a Nutrient Processor.
Additional information[edit | edit source]
- Junk type resources have the same symbol (Jn) rather than their own.
Trivia[edit | edit source]
- With its purple colour and description as "living", Living Slime bears a strong resemblance to S.L.I.M.E, (Surface-Living Intelligent Multiplying Endolith), from Alienology, (Candlewick Press, 2010).
