Multi-tool Weapons is a multi-tool page.
Summary[]

The Weapon Indicator
While the multi-tool has many functions, one of the primary functions is that of a weapon.
There are a variety of beams and projectiles which the Multi-tool can emit. They are often called "weapons". Only one weapon may be selected for use at a time. The selected weapon is displayed in the Weapon Indicator, which is part of the user interface while an avatar is on foot. It is found in the upper right corner of the screen, where there is a bar with two boxes beneath it. The Weapon Indicator itself is the box on the right and also includes the dots to the right of the box. The selected weapon is named in the box. The dots indicate how many weapons are installed and which number is selected.
To switch which weapon is selected, press /
/
(PS4/PC/Xbox). This action will select the next weapon that is installed, and continuously repeating the action will loop back to the first item installed and then repeat.
To use the selected weapon, hold /
/
. To reload the clips of weapons that consume Projectile Ammunition, press

Lists of Primary Weapons[]
- Mining Beam - mining tool. Firing at minerals damage it then destroy it. Can be used as emergency weapons.
- Boltcaster - most powerful weapons in combat and have highest damage increase in successful installation. shoot damaging energy bolts at threats.
- Blaze Javelin - charge-fire weapon which instantaneously deals damage based on charge time. Powerful when fully charged.
- Pulse Spitter - rapidly fires balls. Effective in combat, especially with upgrades.
- Scatter Blaster - fire spray of projectiles. Draw a large amount of ammo. Often referred to as a shotgun.
- Neutron Cannon - charged energy weapon. Hold weapon firing button to charge the cannon and fire a ball of destruction, similar to the Scatter Blaster. Can be fired rapidly, through it deals less damage.
- Terrain Manipulator - terrain changing tool. Used to extract ores from Resource Deposits. Incapable of dealing damage to fauna, flora, minerals and Sentinels. Unique with four mode: Mine, Create, Flatten, and Restore.
- Solar Ray - same as the Terrain Manipulator, but resources collected from the Resource Deposits are transmuted to Liquid Sun. Can be also used as a ddigging tool.
- Animus Beam - same as the Mining Beam, but foods from faunas are transformed to Fragmented Qualia.
Secondary Weapons[]

The Secondary Weapon Indicator
The Multi-tool can host triggered devices that don’t function in the same way as weapons. It can also host a weapon whose use requires a mode-switching function. These items are secondary weapons. Only one secondary weapon may be selected for use at a time. The selected secondary weapon is displayed in the Secondary Weapon Indicator, which is found to the left of the Weapon Indicator.
To switch modes or secondary weapons, press /
/
. This action will select the next mode or installed secondary weapon, and continuously repeating the action will loop back to the first item installed and then repeat. Alternately, open the Quick Menu, go to Utilities > Change Secondary Weapon and select a specific secondary weapon to equip that weapon (this method works even while holding a primary tool with multiple modes).
To use the selected secondary weapon, press /
/
.
Combat Scope[]
The Combat Scope adds a zoom feature while holding a weapon and reduces recoil of those tools.
Plasma Launcher[]
The Plasma Launcher fires bouncing plasma shells at its target. It is useful for assaulting Sentinel Quads and Sentinel Walkers, but is unable to destroy terrain. It is often referred to as a grenade launcher. The Plasma Launcher draws from an internal plasma supply as it is used. When the supply is fully depleted the Plasma Launcher needs to be recharged with Unstable Plasma. A fully charged Plasma Launcher can fire twenty times before the plasma supply is fully depleted. The Plasma Launcher can be upgraded with Plasma Launcher Upgrades (which increase the damage, blast radius, and number of bounces before exploding).
Geology Cannon[]
The Geology Cannon fires plasma shells at its target which explode on impact, dealing damage and destroying terrain. It causes considerably more terrain damage than the Terrain Manipulator. The Geology Cannon draws from an internal plasma supply as it is used. When the supply is fully depleted, the Geology Cannon needs to be recharged with Unstable Plasma. The Geology Cannon can be upgraded with Geology Cannon Upgrades (which increase damage and blast radius).
Paralysis Mortar[]
The Paralysis Mortar is a secondary grenade launcher. On impact, or a short time after launch, the Paralysis Mortar's projectiles will explode in a flash of electric energy, temporarily stunning all entities caught in its blast radius. Like the Plasma Launcher, it uses Unstable Plasma for firing.
Personal Forcefield[]
The Personal Forcefield puts up a temporary barrier which absorbs all incoming fire directed at you from the front. Its protection only works against projectiles --- other sources of damage will still affect the player normally. The Personal Forcefield depletes Life Support as it is used, and while in use the Multi-tool cannot perform any other function (except reload).
Manipulator Mode[]
The Manipulator Mode is used to toggle the Terrain Manipulator between the Mine, Create, Flatten and Restore modes. The alternate tool automatically selects Manipulator Mode whenever the selected primary tool is the Terrain Manipulator.
