Summary[]
No Man's Sky Galactic Records is a reference book listing galactic records both of traveller achievements and the extremes of the natural world. Though the Record Book was started and maintained by No Man's High Hub, records can be set by anyone, anywhere. If you have an idea for a category or your own record breaking accomplishment, but you don't know know how to edit the wiki, please message Hotbrown1Cream.
Fauna Hall of Fame[]
The Fauna Hall of Fame is a list of the largest and smallest wild species in each Genus of Fauna, beginning with the Origins release. See the Legacy Fauna Hall of Fame for data on species prior to the Origins Update.
For more information, including the actual size data, please refer to one of the two primary Fauna Hall of Fame pages:

Hottest Recorded Temperature[]
Both hottest and coldest temperatures can have an 'observed' temperature and a 'theoretical temperature. Since the absolute hottest or coldest a planet will get depends not only 12:00pm (noon), but also the presence of a storm actually observing the hottest temperature for a planet will be very, very difficult. So to calculate the 'theoretical' temperature, one needs the regular temperature and temperature difference a storm makes:
- Regular Temperature (rT): for the hottest regular temperature simply record the temperature at 12:00pm. For the coldest regular temperature, record the temperature at 12:00am.
- Storm Temperature Differential (dT): record the temperature before a storm and then during a storm. This 'difference' is your dT. For example; the temperature was 134°C before the storm and the temperature was 189°C during the storm. This means the dT was 55°C
Using these two values above, assuming the rT was 145°C and the dT was 55°C, theoretical hottest temperature would be 220°C even though observed temperature was 189°C. This formula also applies to coldest temperatures, but with rT made at 12:00am.
Rules:
- Simply register the hottest temperature on your HUD
- Can be recorded on any planet in any galaxy during any weather or in any body of water
