Updated | Origins |
Omegon is a resource.
Summary[ | ]
Omegon (Om) is a very rare resource, and a member of the Precious/Exotic elements class.
Game description[ | ]
Dark matter element. A hugely powerful, largely unknown and entirely untested substance.
Extremely rare.
Source[ | ]
Omegon ore can be found by trading with terminals or merchants or by dismantling Cannon Damage Theta or Beam Impact Theta in crashed ships.
In the initial release, it could be found on extreme weather lush planets, but this type of planet no longer exists in the game.
Use[ | ]
Omegon is an obsolete resource and no longer has a purpose in the game.
Speculation[ | ]
A Warp Reactor Omega upgrade that uses Omegon as an ingredient may be added to the game eventually, but it is not currently obtainable.
A thread on reddit by DRayX17 contains the following information:[1]
"There are only 3 Omega level (tier 4) upgrades [in the game files]:
- Warp Reactor Omega (Hyperdrive Companion Unit)*
- Impact Damage Omega (Boltcaster Companion Unit)
- Combat Amplifier Omega (Mining Beam Companion Unit)
Version differences[ | ]
Under the initial Release version, the following items applied to Omegon. The Day-1 patch changed its properties to those noted above.
Locations[ | ]
- Hovering Omegon Stones on some planets.
- Salvage crashed ships for Omegon by dismantling Cannon Damage Theta or Beam Impact Theta.
- Trade with merchants on trading posts and space stations.
- Feed animals and they may drop Omegon.
Mining[ | ]
You can find Omegon ore on certain radioactive planets, but it cannot be found with a scanner. It glows purple and floats above the ground.
Create a hole with the Grenade launcher beneath the Omegon ore before extracting it because it often falls in two pieces and rolls down the mountains and even on flat grounds. In this way you can mine it easier.
Release history[ | ]
- Release - original game element
- NEXT - removed from the game
- Origins - returned to game in limited fashion
