It is located in the Kazutki Quadrant region of the Euclid galaxy.

Outer Earth Alliance is the principal means for conducting deep space exploration, research, defense, peacekeeping, and diplomacy.

Background[ | ]

The Outer Earth Alliance, or OEA, was a governing body for Earth and it's colonies that was originally intended to act as a type of mutual defense pact. The Alliance was led by elected representatives from the nations of Earth and it's colonies. It was intended that the creation of the Alliance would lead to the end of the conflicts that had begun on Earth and then spread to the colonies. Not everyone, however, agreed with these policies and the conflicts continued.

Any nation who defied Alliance policy was met with a swiftly moving military retaliation at the hands of the Alliance's army. Peace then came to the currently controlled systems, but only under the watchful eye of the Alliance and its military. The colonies did not want to live under the jurisdiction of the OEA and so formed a resistance organization in order to gain independence from the Earth's new government. Before the movement could gain much support the Alliance moved in and began a military occupation of the colonies and coerced the colonies' leaders to forfeit their independence. Some fought against the Alliance occupation, but this only gave the Alliance an excuse to make their military presence indefinite.

Its principal functions included the advancement of Alliance knowledge about the galaxy and its inhabitants, and the pursuit of all scholarly knowledge, not just science and technology. Outer Earth Alliance's ancillary duties included the defense of its controlled systems, and the facilitation of Alliance diplomacy.

As per its mandate of deep space exploration, its personnel were frequently brought into contact with cultures and sentient species whose existences were unknown to the Alliance. OEA Officers therefore acted as official representatives of the Alliance in these cases. OEA vessels were also frequently used to ferry ambassadors on diplomatic missions.

Now the Alliance flagship has found itself in a strange universe with no hope of anyway home. It must continue to honor the Outer Earth Alliance and build its ranks with a new "Terra-Earth" in the Terra-Sol system.

Members are encouraged to name planets/moons/systems with whatever name they choose.

Systems should be labelled with the appropriate OEA-[Region Number]-[SSI] tag. Example: Terra-Sol [OEA-1-010] or [OEA-1-010] Terra-Sol

Officer Ranks[ | ]

Ensign		The most junior officer rank. It was the rank bestowed on newly-commissioned officers. Ensigns who had distinguished themselves in their duty could be posted as a senior bridge officer. (New to the OEA and just learning the ropes.)
Lieutenant junior grade		The officer rank immediately above ensign, and below lieutenant. This rank acknowledges the additional time required to become commissioned. (Geologist, Sends all necessary mineral info to the Captain for upload.)
Lieutenant		The officer rank immediately above lieutenant junior grade, and below lieutenant commander. Some advanced OEA training programs, commissioned their graduates at this rank. (Botanist, Sends all necessary flora info to the Captain for upload.)
Lieutenant commander		The officer rank immediately above lieutenant, and below commander. Officers with this rank could serve as the executive officer of smaller vessels and ground teams. (Zoologist/Ground Cartographer, Sends all necessary fauna and POI info to the Captain for upload.)
Commander		The officer rank immediately above lieutenant commander, and below captain. Typical assignments at this rank included executive officer of larger vessels, space station/outpost command. (Emissary, Sends all necessary starship, freighter, mercantile and pilot info to the Captain for upload.)
Captain		The most senior regular officer, it was most often held by starship and Outer Earth Alliance Headquarters commanders. Captains could also serve as administrative adjutants beneath admirals. (Uploads all planet info per star system.)
Admiral		Commander in chief is the supreme commander of the entire Outer Earth Alliance and any other type of service organization acquired by the OEA until other Admirals are appointed. (Uploads all star system, region and galactic info.)
