The Queer Anarchist Travellers are a civilized space community.

Summary

The Queer Anarchist Travellers are a Civilized space community originating from the Lysentia star system in the Laykleyan region in the Alpha Quadrant of the Euclid galaxy. Lysentia is a high-conflict Korvax system with a comfortable research dominated economy.

Their capital planet Hyoethe is an autumnal paradise with pleasant weather, relaxed sentinels, and no heatstorms. At night, there is a beautiful firefly-like effect. Their Capital Base The MV Pride of Bori-Sago Memorial Village is located here as well.

The Queer Anarchist Travellers are always open for contacts and alliances with other civilizations that wish to peacefully co-exist and benefit from each others' wealth and knowledge. As they grow, they hope to join in friendly alliances with other civilizations the gains of their curious nature to fruition.

QATs (pronounced “cats”) describe their civilization as a laid-back and collaborative community focused on the sharing of knowledge particularly of the wonders of the universe.

Queer Anarchist Culture

Mission

Our mission is to create a safe region for Queers and other marginalized Travellers to explore, develop, and engage in community while furthering our knowledge of the universe. We run and support several supply farms in the Euclid galaxy and hope to become known as a helpful community regarding any topic related to traveling, exploring, aviation, and base building.

Stances

Being an anarchist collective, the Queer Anarchist Travellers do not have much in the way of widely codified stances, as every situation is unique. However, they expect members to operate under certain imperatives:

Stay curious.
Do no harm, but take no shit.
We were all new once; be the help you needed.
Build a bigger table, not a taller fence.
This is a game and is supposed to be fun. Take a break whenever you feel that it's not fun anymore.
The QATs respect and support the personal power of free will, the full use of consent, and the sharing of resources in order to better live in harmony with the universe.

Background

Lore - The QATs were formed when the freighter that Son of M3rcury was on crashed into Hyoethe, leaving few survivors. Those survivors became the QATs with a goal of not being pinned down by the mere transportation of goods, but instead, seeing the universe and all its wonders.

IRL - The QATs were founded when Son of M3rcury saw that there were no obvious and explicitly queer civs. Given the general queerphobia of many gaming spaces, they felt it might be a good idea to get a queer civ started to create a safe space for queer players to come together.

Emblem

The official emblem of The Queer Anarchist Travellers was created by Qitanian SirDishy and introduced in October 2021.

The emblem features a Pink and Black (Queer Anarchy) planet surrounded by an illuminated multi-hued outline representing knowledge lighting up the world. Wrapping around the planet are wispy glowing lines and small circles in an ombre of colors, as well as one larger luminous globe, all representing the multitude of the universe, the diversity of our individual paths, and the innate desire of existence to experience. In the center of the planet are the letters Q A T in the No Man’s Sky font.

Naming and Building Guidelines

Members are encouraged to name star systems and planets with the prefix “QAT - ". Our planets and systems are not listed as such on the wiki because they often do not show up as having the prefix in the warp map and the QATs don't really believe in borders. It's more a "hey, we're here!" than anything else.

The official colors of The Queer Anarchist Travellers are primarily black and pink, with orange and purple being prominent secondary colors given the limitations of the certain color options in NMS. QATs are encouraged to use these colors for base building, character design, and on starships etc.

Joining

If you want to join the Queer Anarchist Travellers, please join the discord and see the channel about joining up! You can find the discord link by visiting Son of M3rcury's fandom profile here -- Son0fM3rcury05.

All members of any race as well as all entities and beings that feel like they should be a Queer Anarchist Traveller and are willing to follow and identify with the QAT imperatives can join the Queer Anarchist Travellers.

Once approved, you are free to officially call yourself a member of the Queer Anarchist Travellers and discover, develop, name, document, speak, and act in its name. You will also be part of the Queer Anarchist Traveller trade and exchange system and have advanced and unlimited access to the Queer Anarchist Traveller supply farms.
