This article is about the installed technology. For the unopened modules you can buy, see Radiation Protection Module. |
Radiation Protection Upgrade is an exosuit upgrade.
Summary[ | ]
Radiation Protection Upgrades, contained within Radiation Protection Modules, are upgrades granting supplementary protection against radiation.
Upgrade properties[ | ]
Radiation Protection Upgrades function similarly to Hazard Protection but only protect the player from radiation damage. Protection duration depends on upgrade class (S-class upgrades offer the best protection).
Module Name | Module Improves | |||
---|---|---|---|---|
Power Duration | Power Duration | Power Duration | ||
Radiation Protection Module | Radiation Protection | 200-300 | 240-320 | 280-360 |
The protection offered by Radiation Protection Upgrades, unlike that offered by the Exosuit's built-in radiation protection, does not recharge automatically while in locations without a significant radiation hazard. Radiation Protection Upgrades must be manually recharged as needed using Uranium (6.25%/unit) or Ion Batteries (100%/unit).
Up to three protections upgrades can be installed in the technology section of the Exosuit. Installing four or more upgrades in the technology section of the Exosuit will disable all upgrades of that type until the upgrade count is reduced to three or less.
Crafting[ | ]
Radiation Protection Upgrades can only be obtained from opening Radiation Protection Modules.
Radiation Protection Upgrade can be repaired using the following ingredients:
- Uranium Ć50 + Wiring Loom Ć1
Radiation Protection Upgrade can be dismantled after construction, returning the following ingredients:
- Radiation Protection Upgrade → Uranium Ć50 + Wiring Loom Ć1
Additional information[ | ]
- It is not clear as to what percentages of Radiation Protection and Radiation Shielding are given. All that has been observed is that the depletion rate is the same regardless of whether it is a little too irradiated or way too irradiated, and it is also variable amongst the pool of upgrades by an adjustable time-frame.
- Upgrade bonuses trigger for Radiation Protection Upgrades if they are adjacent to any of the following:
- Hazard Protection
- Shield Lattice
- Aeration Membrane
- Suspicious Hazard Protection Upgrades
- Thermal Protection Upgrades (Heat)
- Thermal Protection Upgrades (Cold)
- Toxic Protection Upgrades
These only apply in actuality to basic upgrades with a visible percentage.
