Runaway Mould in the marketplace (Atlas Rises)
- This item can be received as a gift from the Guild representatives in space stations.
- Runaway Mould can be purchased and sold at Galactic Trade Terminals and NPCs for a profit.
- This item can be received from encrypted missions at the Nexus.
- This item can also be obtained as a "curious deposit" on some planets, appearing as a sphere that rolls when mined.
Runaway Mould can be refined using a Refiner with the following ingredients:

Through multiple steps of refining, Residual Goop can be converted to Viscous Fluids, to Living Slime, to Runaway Mould and then to Nanite Cluster.

Runaway Mould is not used as an ingredient for crafting.

Runaway Mould is used as an ingredient for refining the following products using a Refiner:

Runaway Mould Farm[]
To create a farm that will provide nanites:
- Use the Economy Scanner to find a Gek 3-star system with at least six (6) planets. (if you don't have one there is a link at the bottom of the scanner page that leads to instructions on how To get one)
- Once you have found a planet with Fungal Mould, pulse over to it.
- When you are in the atmosphere, DO NOT LAND. Instead, fly through the planet at 20 u/sec until at the top you see a three-star object
- Land your ship at that point and make a base
