Created in a Refiner, or occasionally found in crystalline form on a planet's surface.
Offers a substantially improved energy-per-gram ratio over regular Sodium.

- Found as yellow crystal minerals sporadically on the surface of every planet. All Sodium Nitrate crystals require an Advanced Mining Laser to be mined, regardless of their size. All crystals within a short radius of the player are shown as a yellow (Na+) symbol on the HUD for a short period of time after activating the Scanner.
- Also available for purchase from some Galactic Trade Terminals and NPC Pilots.

- Sodium Nitrate is roughly 2.5 times more efficient at recharging technologies than Sodium. Therefore, refining Sodium into Sodium Nitrate, despite reducing the quantity at a 2:1 rate, effectively boosts your catalyst reserves by 50%.
