Trade Outpost Buy Prices[]
In a system I had not been to before, the buy prices for resources and non-"economy" tradeables, iridesite and fusion accelerant specifically, were not better than at the space station.
- Trade Outpost specific
- Decent way to get decent amounts of plants with units.
- Incoming Traders had different buy modifiers. (May or may not be influenced by the buy modifiers of the outpost terminal?)
- Different Trade Outpost terminals have different buy modifiers.
- For non-economy tradeables and resources, of selling them to Trader NPCs at a Trade Outpost, the observed buy modifier range was between +7.1% and -18%, but I do not know the actual range.
- The range of buy modifiers between trader NPCS at a trade outpost can vary somewhat. I've seen a 11% difference from a -6% modifier and a -17% modifier on the same item at the same trade outpost.
- Space Station terminals, Space Station Traders, and other trade terminals/entities
- The Buy/Sell data from the economy scanner appears to only affect economy tradeables.
- The buy modifiers of these items are not strictly better at either a space station or at a trade outpost. Trade outposts benefit from having a varied range though selling at the space station can be better sometimes.
- Space Station traders have the same buy modifiers as the space station terminal. (Are they affected when a space stations buy price goes down?) (Checked in-game with 3 different traders)
- Relevant sections: Units#Trading_in-depth, Galactic_Trade_Terminal#Crashing_the_market.
- The "How Selling Affects Prices" section in the "The Economy of No Man's Sky (1.77+)" spreadsheet is also relevant.
- Selling to an NPC did not affect the buy modifiers of other NPCs. (Unless the NPC is the space station terminal from what I've read)
- Sold 9,999+ of an item so that would cause the buy price to decrease if I sold to the same NPC/terminal.
- When looking at different trading post terminals, the freighter terminal, terminals at a settlement, it appears they have different buy modifiers, they don't seem to be the same "market"/terminal as the terminal on the space station. Terminals are like static trader npcs, their buy prices vary from each other but selling too much at one of them lowers their buy price.
- Other questions:
- I assume that a player's in-game economy is not affected by what other players buy and sell. There are other ways that other players can affect another player but I'm guessing this isn't one of them.
