Technology is an item that upgrades a player's exosuit, multi-tool, exocraft, and starship.

Summary[]
Inventory page for a ship
There are four basic upgrade levels, labeled by Greek letters. In order of improvement they are:
- SIGMA
- TAU
- THETA
- OMEGA
Note that very few of the technologies have an OMEGA version of improvement.
When upgrading technology, there are twelve specific areas that can be upgraded. These are shown on the right hand side of three separate upgrade panels (exosuit, multi-tool, and starship).
Each icon has a number of rings surrounding it. As upgrades to that particular area of technology are made, the rings are filled in to indicate the current status level. Note that in the graphic, the Weapons icon has two circles partially filled in, corresponding to the Phase Beam and Photon Cannon. On the other hand, the Hyperdrive icon has one circle, representing a completed Hyperdrive.
Position/Synergy bonus[]
Upgrades will provide additional bonuses if similar technologies are grouped together.
Different Technologies have different synergy bonus colors. For example, Plasma Grenade synergy bonus is pink while ShieldBoost for player's exosuit is bold white.
Exosuit technology[]
Players can upgrade multiple pieces of exosuit technology:
- Life Support technology - Provide upgrades to the Life Support System.
- Hazard Protection technology - Provide upgrades to Hazard Protection Suit.
- Stamina technology - Provide upgrades to Exosuit.
- Utilities technology - Provide upgrades to Exosuit.
Multi-tool technology[]
Players can upgrade multiple pieces of Multi-tool technology:
- Grenade technology - Provide upgrades to the Plasma Launcher.
- Laser technology - Provide upgrades to the Mining Beam.
- Projectile technology - Provide upgrades to the Boltcaster.
- Scan technology - Provide upgrades to the Scanner.
Starship technology[]
Players can upgrade multiple pieces of Starship technology:
- Deflector Shield technology - Provide upgrades to increase starships' shield capacity.
- Hyperdrive technology - Provide upgrades to enable Wrap Travel between cosmos and galaxies.
- Weapons Technology - Provide upgrades to increase the fire rate, cooling speed, and damage.
- Starship scanner technology - Provide upgrades to increase Scanner capabilities.
Exocraft Technology[]
Players can upgrade multiple pieces of Exocraft technology:
- Acceleration Module - Provide upgrades to allow short bursts of speed.
- Exocraft Signal Booster - Provide upgrades to increase scanning radius and to include points of interest.
- Exocraft Mining Laser
- Exocraft Mounted Cannon
Freighter Technology[]
Players can upgrade the Freighter technology:
- Hyperdrive - Provide upgrades to increase the Warp Travel range.
