Terrifying Sample is a type of Artifact.
Summary[ | ]
Terrifying Sample is one of several types of Artifacts. The DARK variant is a reward for opening Large Artifact Crates found in Ancient Ruins and containers in Derelict Freighters. This artifact type is also available by offering a Hypnotic Eye to Submerged Ruins. However, this option will only become available after listening to enough story dialogues from the ruins.
A second variety identified as FEAR can be obtained from several varieties of Space Encounters. Keeping this item when obtained in this way can cause the space encounter that awarded it to keep spawning without warning, dropping you out of pulse drive involuntarily.
Game description[ | ]
An appalling relic, the haunted remains of some abyssal horror. It has lived at least X0 lifetimes, and will live many more again.
Will stalk the bearer across the galaxy and the next, unless it is sold before the curse can take effect.
Modifier and value ranges[ | ]
The table shows the modifier and value ranges. There is no correlation between the modifier and the value, both are randomly chosen within their ranges.
