Members are encouraged to name star systems with the "-LU" suffix. Planets may be named whatever the player chooses.

- Civilization is officially founded when the founders open up the Discord server for anyone to join and announce the founding.
- November 18, 2022
- The first council members for the civilization are selected. Two councilors from each of the two factions sit on the council. Beninja and Alfonsito represent the Luminaire Commonwealth. Eyum06 and CitizenMeme represent the Umbral Consortium.
- November 21, 2022
- The first role-playing event starts, with a news report from the LUNN (Luminumbra News Network) detailing a crashed freighter on Luminaire Commonwealth homeworld Yumede Beta, with implications of possible Umbral Consortium piracy.
- November 25, 2022
- Luminaire Commonwealth and Umbral Consortium warriors face off in Mr. Roach's Combat Den.
Rules[ | ]
Rules for this civilization include: Discord rules:
- You must be 13+ to participate in the Discord server.
- No bigotry, zero tolerance.
- Content must be PG-13-- we are not "that kind" of role-playing server.
- No spam. Promotional posts are permitted once per week in the self-promos channel.
- Your Discord name must match your role-playing profile/persona.
- Alt accounts for purposes of circumventing a ban or sanction are not allowed and will result in an immediate ban of all your accounts.
Civ rules:
- All prospective citizens must have an RP profile that includes (at a minimum): your character name, friend code, in-game name, 1-2 sentences about your character's personality. When you have joined a faction, you may update your RP Profile to include your faction. You may update your RP Profile at any time. See the pinned post in bot-spam for how to set that up.
- Citizenship is determined by joining one of the Factions (Lumin or Umbra). If the faction leaders declare you a citizen, then you are a citizen.
- See the dedicated recruitment channels for Faction information and how to join Lumin or Umbra.
- Non-citizen guests are welcome, as are ambassadors of other civilizations. Faction-only channels are locked to non-Faction members.
- Leaders of other civilizations may post once per week in the self-promos channel to promote their civilization.
- DualCitizenship in other civilizations is acceptable as long as you meet one of the Factions' requirements for citizenship.
- Other self-promotion posts may go in the self-promos channel once per week. If you have a Twitch account and post in self-promos, you will be added as one of our Streamers. When you are Streaming, you will have the more visible Streaming role and a post will go live in streaming; do not post in self-promos every time your stream goes live.
- Per inter-faction treaty, Geology Cannons and Minotaur exocraft weapons are forbidden to be used in Luminumbra Collective star systems.
- Neutron cannon used against same faction members is allowed but not against the opposing faction except when a starship attacks a grounded player, that player can in all rights use a neutron cannon to defend themselves and ground the pilot.
- Starship shields can be recharged during combat.
- Health can be restored by consumables or healing stations during combat.

The Luminumbra Collective is a civilization divided and sharing an uneasy peace. The Luminaire Cmmonwealth on Yumede Beta is a collectivist, sharing culture that tends toward complacency and groupthink. The Umbral Consortium on Paulesit Minor is an independent-minded group with a tendency toward lawlessness. They have united, but conflict is common and sometimes results in violence.
