The Salty Grinder Research Platform is a player base.

Summary[ | ]

The Salty Grinder Research Platform is a player base, located on the planet Drogradur NO426 in the Owdzangm XV system.

This offshore platform researches anomalous objects, flora, and fauna with varying levels of productivity. So far this structure has not produced any useful data for the Galactic Hub and has had multiple containment breaches.

Layout[ | ]

Three landing platforms are available on the main aerial dock which connects to the platform's main entrance. An alternate landing pad is located on the roof for quick access to living quarters.

Level 2 (Main Level) - Two colored teleporters flank the main entrance. The one to the left (colored purple) leads to the 3rd level, and the one on the right (colored light blue) leads to the aquatic dock below the platform. Ahead of the entrance are stairs leading down to level 1, and around the stairs leads to the main research lab. Behind the aquarium are stairs leading to level 3, and to the top of the structure.

Level 1 - Upon walking down the stairs, a large observation area is directly ahead with nice views of Danet Prime and of awesome bases created by fellow builder ak128 (bases may not appear due to how populated Drogradur NO426 is). To the left is an experimental reactor room and to the right is an anomalous objects storage area along with two storage silos containing Oxygen and Paraffinium. Behind the stairs are storage containers, Refiners and a trade terminal. There is also access to a catwalk that leads to the aquatic dock.

Level 3 - Main living quarters filled with many anomalous objects, a fire place, kitchen, lounges, aquariums, bedroom/office and beatbyte devices.

Aquatic dock - Secondary supply dock with nomad geobay for quick travel above water. A teleporter, colored blue with yellow, allows for quick travel to the underwater portion of the platform. A ladder tunnel is also available in case of teleporter malfunction.

Undersea structure - Simple area that leads to the Nautilon geobay hangar.

Features[ | ]

  • 2 storage silo networks, one collecting oxygen and the other paraffinium, are available to visitors.
  • 7 Bytebeat devices located on the 3rd level can be activated by a switch located on the large green blob painting above the devices. The song that plays is called "Spicy Salt" (assuming that it even plays properly for visitors).
  • 6 total short range teleporters for convenience.

Additional information[ | ]

The base was named after my detest for liking the grind.

Bugs[ | ]

  • Due to base complexity, players may fall through the floors often.
  • The teleporters may send players to the wrong teleporters.
  • The storage silos may not provide resources.
  • Upon arriving via base portal, players will almost always arrive at the top of the base.
  • Electrical cloaking unit may often fail revealing power cables.
  • Undersea structure may get filled with terrain.
