Trading is a player role.
Summary[ | ]
Trading is an essential feature of No Man's Sky. It allows you to obtain the resources needed to manufacture all kinds of Technology or power them as well as obtain Units by selling valuable goods.
Access to trade[ | ]
Galactic Trade Terminal[ | ]
One of the ways to trade in the game is through these terminals present in each of the space stations. This is the simplest method. These terminals are also present in some outposts and Trading Posts. You can even build one in your planetary base.
Dialogue with NPCs[ | ]
The second way to trade in No Man's Sky is to talk to the pilots of the Starships that land, so you'll have the opportunity to trade with them, exactly the same way you would with the Galactic Trade Terminal.
Price Changes[ | ]
Depending on the Star system, the price of items may vary, this variation is valid for NPCs. This allows you to buy an object for example at the price of 9000 to sell it for 11000
, and thus gain 2000 additional
.
The price difference from the average is shown for each resource, in red or green depending on whether it is advantageous or not.
Interstellar Trade[ | ]
Interstellar trade is a mechanic added in the Atlas Rises update, it consists of buying an item in a star system where it is sold at a low price, then selling it in a system where it is worth more, in order to make a profit. Each system has an Economy that defines what types of items are sold.
The profits can be very large, for example, making a purchase for 5 million units and reselling it for 7 million, and thus making a profit of 2 million, this just requires enough space in the inventory to store the goods.
Each economy offers specific products at a low price (-20% approximately), each of these products is sought after in star systems with a specific economic model, where you can sell it at a high price (+30% approximately), a player can thus make a Trade route through different economies.
