The United Federation of Interstellar and Planetary Anomalies, abbreviated and referred to as UFIPA, is a player-created civilisation in No Man's Sky, based in the Edrovozd star system in the Hukosre region of the Isdoraijung galaxy's Gamma quadrant. Edrovozd is a wealthy, mildly conflicted Gek system with a trading-based economy.
Our primary capital planet, Ifortc Tau, is a blue-grassed Eden world with blue skies, red-leafed trees and sublime weather, though it has no water. Our main governmental hub, the Capitol, is located here.
Members of the UFIPA are referred to as Travellers, as this is a widely accepted term for explorers of the cosmos.
Mission[]
The UFIPA seeks to unite Travellers in the hopes of making our regions of the Isdoraijung galaxy into collaborative, prosperous and relatively safe communities.
Despite our almost ritualistic approach to the removal of Sentinel drones and their adversaries, the UFIPA do not revel in violence, and wish to remain peaceful when possible. Only First Spawn sympathisers are exempt from this rule, and we otherwise encourage willing Travellers of all races to join us.
The UFIPA's combat unit - the Aeron Legion - always welcomes new members and encourages any Travellers who see anything suspicious (e.g. to do with piracy, or the First Spawn) to report immediately to the most accessible Commander.

Background[]
The UFIPA was founded by a Gek and a semi-divergent Korvax Sentinel Hunter with shared interests - exploration, discovery, and the purging of Sentinels.
Naming Guidelines[]
Within the above regions the UFIPA system tag is mandatory.
The UFIPA system tag is a 5-digit code consisting of region, economy tier, lifeform, economy type, conflict level and finally the system name. Here's how it works:
- UFIPA- This lets Travellers easily recognise that they are in UFIPA space.
- Region - Hukosre is A, the Rarukuag Nebula B, Rorfind C, Muptista D, Chmetz E, the Domauj Boundary F, the Suvasaserl Cloud G, the Kiwakas Spur H, Licenia I, Justabra J, the Ihoemaina Boundary K, the Kihiko Shallows L, the Uculik Adjunct M, the Poteper Nebula N, the Ezhdes Boundary O, the Sea of Joarbacoc P, the Hehebyseh Expanse Q, and the Usulei Quadrant R.
- Economy Tier - Uncharted or Abandoned systems are represented as 0, tier one systems as 1, tier two systems as 2, tier three systems as 3, and pirate systems as 4.
- Dominant Lifeform - Uncharted systems are represented as 0, Gek systems as 1, Abandoned Gek systems as 4, Korvax as 2, Abandoned Korvax as 5, Vy'keen as 3, and Abandoned Vy'keen as 6.
- Economy Type - Uncharted or Abandoned systems are represented as 0, Technology economies as 1, Mining as 2, Trading as 3, Manufacturing as 4, Advanced Materials as 5, Scientific as 6, and Power Generation as 7.
- Conflict Level - Uncharted / Abandoned systems or systems that otherwise have no conflict are represented as 0, Low conflict as 1, Medium as 2, High as 3, and Pirate as 4.
These six parts are combined to create a 5-digit UFIPA tag that should look like this: UFIPA-#####-
The tag is then finished off with the name of the system being tagged. We would recommend Travellers refrain themselves from giving systems custom names, for the sake of uniformity. If a system is deemed necessary to be renamed, it must be a plausible name that could feasibly be used in-universe.
An example of a completed tag code is: UFIPA-A3371-Yuseraln. This is the tag of a Hukosre system with a tier 3 Vy'keen economy of Power Generation and low conflict level, called Yuseraln. This is also the location of our Vy'keen capital, Texaseyrg.
System tags should contain no spaces apart from those in the system's actual name.
As this nametag system is the only thing that defines UFIPA space, it is mandatory for any wishing to contribute to the expansion of our civilisation. Players who prefer not to use the above naming convention should only upload systems at least 100,000ly away from UFIPA space.
There are no naming guidelines for any content except star systems, though we would ask that if the need to rename an asset is felt to be necessary, it is a plausible name that could feasibly be used in the real world.
Note: with recent updates, some previously tagged systems - most notably the capital system - have reverted to their original names. This is the fault of the online discovery services, and does not bypass the nametag rules.
How to Join[]
The glyphs to our Gek, Synthetic (Korvax + Autophage), Vy'keen, Pirate and Abandoned capitals respectively are listed below. All systems are in the Isdoraijung galaxy. There are currently no designated Traveller or Anomaly capitals due to the races' unorthodox nature.

The Abandoned capital is intended to be a calmer, quieter capital to the others, and there will be a maximum of 4 official buildings to minimise Governors intruding on the citizens' personal lives away from the rest of civilisation.
Race-specific capitals are for the comfort and convenience of their denizens - for example, Korvax offices are to be found on the Synthetic capital world, rather than scattered randomly across our claimed systems.
Though there are separate capital planets for each race, every race has completely equal rights, and having one race per planet is a guideline, not a law.

The UFIPA's emblem was officially created by noomintroll on the 21st July 2023 and the flag later on the 31st July 2023.
Colonies[]
All Travellers are encouraged to help colonise planets in UFIPA space.
A colony is a group of bases in a specific area of a planet. At least five bases must be uploaded to be considered a colony. Any player-built bases / base clusters in groups of less than five are known as "structures". Besides that, there are no limits on what you can call a colony - it could be a fully functional city, or just a handful of wooden shacks. If it's a group of players working together to create a community within the community, it's a colony.
Colonies are recommended to keep a population cap of ~20, with a total of 20 uploaded bases to a system (at maximum). This excludes capital planets (detailed below) on which there is a higher upload cap of up to 60 maximum uploaded bases, and colonies are recommended to keep a population of ~30.

Arthropod mutants are fully accepted within our territories, whether they're recognisably their original race or mostly chitin.
The trade of contraband is not illegal or punishable by UFIPA authorities. However, any Travellers caught committing / with a history of piracy towards other Travellers or caught / with a history of griefing will be persecuted.
It is advised that any NipNip farms should be centred in the system of the pirate capital, because of low Sentinel interference.
Bounty hunting is encouraged, regarded illegal activity towards other members is kept to a minimum, and players do not put unnecessary bounties on one another’s heads.
Piracy is allowed upon NPC property in Pirate systems only. Piracy in regulated space will result in severe punishments.
No LGBTQIA++ 'phobes of any kind. Any homo-, trans- or other related -phobic language - as well as racism, sexism or any other form of discrimination - will result in a ban from the Discord without warning.

Foundation Day[]
27 July
Celebrates the discovery of Texaseyrg, the first planet officially claimed by the UFIPA. This holiday can be celebrated from anywhere in the civ, though is officially held in the Capitol on Ifortc Tau. Traditionally, a group of explorers would travel to an uncharted system (pre-determined by the Governors and Division Leaders) and document everything there.
Rejuvenation Day[]
17 July
A day spent remembering how Ratuscont Oakeo - former Synthetic capital and paradise world - was ravished by the Reset and reduced to a toxic marshland, while simultaneously celebrating new beginnings on Habri Delta, the current Synthetic capital. Though it's officially in recognition of Ratuscont Oakeo, citizens pay respects to anything that was lost to them personally due to the Reset during this holiday.
Divisions - Summary[]
Divisions are the UFIPA's official organizations which each perform a specific function designed to benefit Travellers in one way or another. There is no official way to register for any given Division (with the exception of the Aeron Legion), you need only to fit the criteria and perform the roles listed. There are currently 6 main divisions consisting of a total of 17 minor guilds and sectors, as well as 2 contemporary guilds.
Mobile and Exploratory Divisions[]
Helios Division[]
The Helios Division is the UFIPA's shiphunting division, dedicated to locating and rooting out the highest-quality starships, frigates and freighters, be it for long-distance warp travel or the frequent dogfights a Traveller may find themself in. Travellers in the Helios Division are also responsible for taking care of and documenting any rogue Interceptors found in UFIPA space, and uploading all vessels found to their relevant wiki pages.
It is split into 3 Sectors:
Freighter Sector[]
Specialises in the documentation and sourcing of freighters.
Frigate Sector[]
In charge of hunting and documenting frigates.
Starship Sector[]
In charge of searching for and documenting starships of all kinds, including Interceptors.
The Aeron Legion[]
The Aeron Legion is the UFIPA's police force, specialising in the culling of hostile fugitives and Sentinels.
The Aeron Legion also controls relationships between the UFIPA and other civilisations, like trade partners / routes and the sharing of space.
Astrography Division[]
The UFIPA’s Astrographers have one goal: expansion. These explorers chart the stars with the sole purpose of expanding the UFIPA’s territories, without stopping to document systems’ life along the way. They are expected to work in tandem with the Aeron Legion, with the latter offering military support in unforeseen conflict and the former giving the Aeron Legion valuable intel on trade routes and potentially dangerous systems and individuals. It is loosely split into four guilds:

Xenobiology Division[]
The Xenobiology Division is the concentration of the UFIPA's explorers that specialise in fauna discovery. It is their role to discover every creature on every claimed world and upload them to their relevant wiki page.
It is split into 7 Guilds:
Entomologist's Guild[]
Specialises in the documentation of insect-like lifeforms. Excludes the genus Bos and bug-like creatures that are constantly airborne.
Herpetologist's Guild[]
Specialises in the documentation of reptilian creatures, and Blobs.
Ornithologist's Guild[]
Specialises in the documentation of exclusively flying lifeforms that are constantly airborne. This includes sky worms and butterfly-like birds.
Icthyologist's Guild[]
Specialises in the documentation of fish and marine life, including seemingly ground dwelling creatures that are only seen underwater.
Arachnologist's Guild[]
Specialises in the documentation of creatures in the genus Bos.
Roboticist's Guild[]
Specialises in the documentation of creatures belonging to genus Mechanoceris or Structurae.
Anomalist's Guild[]
Specialises in the documentation of creatures in the Anomalous genus.
Geology Division[]
The Geology Division is the concentration of the UFIPA's explorers who specialise in the discovery and documentation of minerals and inorganic matter. It is their role to discover as many minerals as they can find on every claimed world and upload them to their relevant wiki page. It consists of the Geologists and Marine Geologists.
Marine Geologist's Guild[]
Marine Geology.
Botany Division[]
The Botany Division is the UFIPA's concentration of Travellers who relish in the exploration of planets in the hopes of discovering new plant varieties. It is the role of Botanists to discover as many plants as possible on every claimed world and upload them to their relevant wiki page.
The Botany Division consists of the general Botanists, who document plantlife, Phycologists and Mycologists.
Mycologist’s Guild[]
Mycologists specialise in the documentation of fungi-like flora.
Phycologist's Guild[]
Specialise in aquatic plantlife.
Contemporary Guilds[]
These are unofficial Guilds with no seats in the Capitol. They can be heard in debates by representing themselves on the Board of Travellers.
Builder's Guild[]
Travellers who like to build. No guidelines, anyone can join.
Photographer's Guild[]
Travellers with exceptional photography skills. Governors suggest that they utilise these to add pictures to our wikipages missing images.
