Underwater Oxygen Upgrade is an exosuit upgrade.

Underwater Oxygen Upgrades, contained within Underwater Protection Modules, are procedurally generated upgrades granting supplementary air while underwater.
Game Description[ | ]
A supreme upgrade for the Aeration Membrane.
An almost total rework of the Aeration Membrane, this upgrade module brings unparalled improvements to the Oxygen Tank.
Charge equipment with Oxygen or Life Support Gel.
Upgrade properties[ | ]
Underwater Oxygen Upgrades function similarly to Hazard Protection but only serve to augment the player's air supply while underwater. Air supply duration is heavily influenced by the upgrade's class, but it remains to be seen whether this duration is randomised between same-class upgrades.
The air supplies of Underwater Oxygen Upgrades, unlike that of the Exosuit's built-in Aeration Membrane, do not recharge automatically while out of water, nor can they be replenished by gathering air from Candle Kelp. Underwater Oxygen Upgrades must be manually recharged as needed using Oxygen (2.5%/unit) or Life Support Gel (100%/unit).
Three Underwater Oxygen Upgrades are able to augment the player's air supply and can only benefit from their own adjacency buffs --- additional upgrades of the same type will not activate even if the added air supply offered by the active upgrade has been fully depleted.

Underwater Oxygen Upgrades can only be obtained from opening Underwater Protection Modules.
Underwater Oxygen Upgrade can be repaired using the following ingredients:
Life Support Gel ×1 + Wiring Loom ×1
Underwater Oxygen Upgrade can be dismantled after construction, returning the following ingredients:
- Underwater Oxygen Upgrade → Life Support Gel ×1 + Wiring Loom ×1
Additional information[ | ]
- Underwater Protection Modules can be recharged, allowing the player to stay underwater as long as they have Oxygen and Life Support Gel to spare. As Oxygen can be refined from Candle Kelp plants found underwater, the player may be able to stay underwater indefinitely.
- Underwater Protection Modules do not transfer any adjacency bonuses to any of the other hazard protection upgrades in existence; not even the aforementioned Aeration Membrane gives the same benefit despite the added breathing efficiency. As such, Underwater Protection Modules only provide these bonuses to each other.
